Hi everyone, I am Varuni. I am running for the role of Vice President of the Leeds PRASS with the experience, network and commitment needed to support the society’s growth. Over the past year, I served as President of the MSRC, leading 38 committee representatives and coordinating across more than 50 subsocieties, an experience that strengthened my leadership, organisation and ability to balance multiple high-pressure responsibilities.

Nationally, I am the Secretary for PRASSA, which has given me strong connections with plastic surgeons across the country and insight into how to run high-quality academic and career-focused events. I hope to bring this national perspective and network to Leeds, enhancing opportunities for our members and increasing collaboration between PRASSA and our society.

I’m committed, reliable, and genuinely passionate about plastic surgery and its transformative potential, and I want to help build a society that offers real value, visibility and opportunities for everyone interested in this fantastic specialty.

Hi, I’m Ash, and I am applying for the role of Vice President of LPRASS. Throughout medical school, I have greatly benefited from attending events organised by various surgical societies, and I would value the opportunity to help provide the same experience for other students. As Vice President, I would be committed to ensuring the society remains inclusive, engaging, and valuable for everyone involved.
In this role, I would aim to support the smooth running of the society alongside the President and wider committee, helping to organise high-quality events. I would be keen to organise a plastic surgery-focused conference to showcase the specialty, provide opportunities for networking and teaching, and encourage greater student interest in the field.
Alongside this, I would like to expand the range of opportunities available to members through practical suturing workshops, career talks from trainees and consultants, and collaborative events with other surgical societies. I would also be interested in helping students gain greater exposure to the breadth of plastic surgery by organising teaching on burns and aesthetic surgery, as well as promoting opportunities for research, mentorship, and theatre involvement.
My previous committee experience with societies such as OrthoSoc and Cutting Edge has helped me develop strong organisational, teamwork, and communication skills, which I would bring to this role. I am enthusiastic about contributing to the continued growth and success of LPRASS and helping create a welcoming society that inspires students interested in surgery.
