Whether it’s encouraging people to attend well-being socials or suggesting that my PAL group forms a human pyramid the first day we met, I always give full effort and enthusiasm!

Being chemistry well-being rep and year 1 course rep, I learned how to balance responsibilities and communicate effectively with staff and students. Having already attended SSPF meetings, I am familiar with the process (and that the door to the meeting room is a push and not a pull). As president, I would utilise these experiences, avoid embarrassment when entering the room and hit the ground running!

I would take great delight in adding ‘complete risk assessment’ to my google calendar tasks and maintaining my long-running email streak with Tina Quail - I do consider her a core member of my inner circle these days. I envision collaborations with ChemSoc and the well-being reps to help NatSci students feel more integrated within the School of Chemistry and present a united front! An exciting new project could be establishing a sports team which is open to all (e.g. touch rugby). I feel this would provide a fun way for everyone to socialise and bond outside of drinking-focused events.

As President, I would bring genuine enthusiasm to the society- something I feel strongly about having experienced firsthand how invaluable societies are to the university experience. I am driven to create an inclusive environment where students feel welcomed and comfortable, ensuring every member’s voice is heard. Using leadership and communication skills from previous roles, I can establish a clear vision whilst remaining approachable and open to new ideas. You can count on me to be an active, organised committee member- coordinating suitable meeting dates, managing group chats effectively and making sure we have a suitable profile picture (mugshot).
