My objectives as Deputy Station Manager:
Inclusivity
• As the sound of students in Leeds, it’s number one on my ethos that our society reflects the diversity of our city!
• Whether this is with University representatives, society wide meetings or anonymous applications, real efforts for diversity and inclusion are core to my values
Safety
• The safety of our members, especially in socials, is imperitive to our society as a whole and my personal beliefs
• By ensuring committee are all trained in sexual harassment prevention and inclusion I am making LSR a safer society
Progression
• As the best student radio station in the UK, making sure we keep progressing is essential to making sure we stay that way!
• Developing our tech knowledge within our society is key to us securing even more awards and creating the best demos for demo factor 2025!
• Creating more varied socials that include non-drinkers and day time sessions!

Hiiii im Anna Zakis - You might not have met me as i am currently on my placement year in London, BUT im ready to throw EVERYTHING back into LSR once i get back!! (If u wanna chat before then, my insta is annazakis )

In a nutshell, id be really happy if you voted for me as deputy, and you should do this because:

VOTE TOON FOR DEPUTY STATION MANAGER!
My time at LSR has not just been like joining a club, but like joining a family. As deputy station manager I want to continue that culture and continue the legacy, and what better way than to run for deputy station manager?
My dedication and passion for radio and LSR have been proven throughout my first two years at the Uni of Leeds, be that from getting up at 5:45 am to come in and present an early morning show, or winning the breakfast award at the Summer Awards 2024, I promise to throw my all into the role. As an active freelance journalist, I also have extensive knowledge of how radio studios work, and have been accustomed to dealing with on-air and off-air issues something a deputy manager would have to deal with in the absence of the station manager. Finally, the role of deputy station manager also provides welfare and advocacy for inclusion and equality something which I have prior experience of as Leeds University Netballs welfare sec for 2023/24, meaning I have the correct training from the likes of student minds to ensure I can confidently and confidentially signpost people who may want advice to the correct place. My main aim as deputy station manager would be to continue ties and connect with our OUTSTANDING alumni to allow networking events, I also would like to work towards a buddy scheme with alumni and to provide advice to current radio students. This will be made easier via my freelance contacts in the industry! The most important part of my role would be to be on hand as a friendly face and trusted person to both new and old members with any issues they may have and of course plan the BEST (and inclusive) SOCIALS EVER!!!!
