I'm a second year Social and Political Sciences Student and I am currently one of the News of the Week hosts as well as hosting Thursday Hometime and 'The Fangirl Podcast'. I am an aspiring journalist and being on the News team has really helped my confidence. In general, joining LSR has been the best thing I have done at uni and I hope I can make the experience as fun for members next year.

I have done so many amazing things with LSR such as visiting Leeds City College to talk to students about futures in radio, hosted LSR's first Live Lounge, and hosted and produced some of the LUU election hustings! All of these have improved my skills in things like driving the desk, running an OB and interviewing.

I am particularly interested in social issue news and entertainment news! Also, the lead-up to the election will be a great opportunity to create some powerful radio and fun social media content.

This year i have presented the Latest podcast, aswell as the weekend show Sunday Roast and my own weekly bulletin. The above shows have multiplied my passion to be a future broadcast Journalist and tell stories to whoever will listen!

Hi! I am Jenna and will cut to the chase like any good news host...I have spent this year working as the Volunteering Intern for the Careers Service and strengthening the bond between LSR and the Leeds community (like going into local colleges to run sessions about student radio and building a sponsorship for LSR from Careers itself). I am passionate about fair and nuanced news, charities, and building up the next generation of student radio stars - who is with me?!

Hi I am Matt - a first year politics student and I would love to be one of LSRs next Head of News. I am passionate about a variety of areas of News from politics (hence the degree!), to sport, to showbiz! Because who doesn't like a little celeb drama now and again, or even a failed Willy Wonka experience!
If elected, I would look to further the legacy of Magan and Fran by continuing to produce high-quality, short-form news bites that are appealing to students with dwindling attention spans. I would promote the work of the LSR news teams further to boost listenership, ensure a range of opinions are heard on our platform and aim for collaboration across the society and further, to ensure we are putting out the best possible News content that gives a voice to all students.
