Hi! I’m Reika and I’m running to be your PR Officer for 2025/6, I want KDS to feel like a welcoming community for all our members!

KDS has been my home away from home, helping me through homesickness and challenges. Dancing with amazing people made me feel more involved and deepened my love for the society. Whilst I love the community we have built, I want to create more opportunities for our members to participate in KDS outside of tutorials!

I believe I would be a great fit for the position as I am deeply committed to KDS through active participation as a core group member, the competition and the showcase. I have 6 years of dance experience, including choreography and music editing, as well as experience running my personal TikTok and Instagram accounts which include kpop dance covers (ofc)!

If elected, I will use social media to create a more engaging, accessible, and welcoming KDS community. By sharing more about KDS’s activities, such as tutorial sessions and event highlights, members will feel more familiar with KDS! I will also collect and listen to feedback to improve engagement and ensure everyone’s voice is heard!
To make KDS participation easier, I will organise information more clearly, providing an annual schedule and improving the use of highlights for key resources like the KDS handbook and Q&A. This will help members plan ahead and stay informed without confusion!

I hope to create fun TikTok covers and dance challenges, this way we can raise engagement whilst also providing more opportunities for our members to enjoy and get involved with KDS beyond tutorials! I also plan to use hashtags like #KDSMemberSpotlight to strengthen community ties and showcase our amazing members!

I believe my passion and experience would make me the perfect candidate as I plan to improve our social media engagement and create a warm and friendly environment that encourages participation!

I'd love to apply for the position of PR officer as I have previous experience throughout college and currently through university with media and content creation for socials and I think I'd excel most in this position. I'd love to be apart of committee as I've attended most tutorials and have found I feel most at home at KDS whether It's through classes, socials or other events held. With the PR officer position, I believe I'd do well at responding to questions from other members and any enquiries as I want everyone to have the best possible experience at KDS, just like I do.
