Having been an active member of LUUTIS as a first-year, engaging with the current committee and society members, I would be elated to serve as the next Vice President of LUUTIS. Having built my own student financial research organisation, The Junior IB, leading over 30 members and organising successful events, I believe I possess the leadership and interpersonal skills to excel in the role. In addition to fulfilling the duties that come with the role, I aim to bring new initiatives and ideas to LUUTIS. Also, having completed multiple internships in finance roles, I believe I can add immense value to members and my future team in the form of connections and guidance. LUUTIS has been a crucial part of my university journey so far and it would be an honour to be on the society's committee.

I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the position of Vice-President of LUUTIS. As a first-year student pursuing a BSc in Banking and Finance, I am enthusiastic about the world of finance and investing, and I am excited to bring my skills and experience to the society.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. As an Associate at ODT Capital, I managed and assisted a team of four talented analysts from LSE and University College London. This experience helped me develop strong leadership skills and fostered productive relationships with team members and external partners. Additionally, I co-founded the Junior Investment Banker, a student-led research organization dedicated to authoring comprehensive deal reports. Through this initiative, I gained a deep understanding of the financial markets and honed my communication and organizational skills.
If elected as Vice-President of LUUTIS, I am committed to leveraging my skills and experience to drive the society towards greater success. My vision for LUUTIS centers on collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity. I believe that by working together and embracing new ideas, we can create a dynamic and engaging community that empowers our members to achieve their full potential.
One of my key goals as Vice-President would be to host expert speakers who can provide our members with valuable insights and knowledge related to finance and investing. I plan on building a strong network, and using this network to bring in speakers who can offer unique perspectives and highlight exciting developments in the financial world. These talks would be interactive and engaging, allowing our members to learn from the best in the field and broaden their horizons.
I also believe that collaboration is key to success, and I would work to develop partnerships and joint initiatives with other societies to expand our reach and create exciting new opportunities for our members. By collaborating with other student groups, we can tap into new networks and resources and create a more dynamic and diverse community.
Another priority for me would be to expand our educational resources and opportunities. I am passionate about empowering our members with the right knowledge and skills, and I would work to enhance our society's resources, including developing workshops, seminars, and mentorship opportunities to deepen our members' understanding of trading and investments. I would also explore partnerships with financial institutions to provide real-world learning experiences and internships to our members.
To provide members with hands-on experience in trading and investment decision-making, I would organize trading competitions and simulations. These events would enable members to put their knowledge and skills to the test, gain practical experience, and receive feedback from experts in the field. I would also work to explore opportunities to convert our current virtual fund into a real one, providing our members with a more interactive and hands-on experience, while enhancing our understanding of financial markets and investment strategies.
Finally, I would focus on enhancing the society's online presence. In today's digital age, having a strong online presence is essential, and I would revamp the society's website and social media platforms, making them more engaging and informative. I would also leverage these platforms to showcase the society's events and activities, attract new members, and connect with industry professionals.
As Vice-President of LUUTIS, I would also be committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment within the society. I believe that diversity and teamwork are critical to success, and I would actively encourage members from all backgrounds and levels of experience to participate and contribute to the society. I would establish regular feedback channels to gather input from members and incorporate their ideas into the society's activities and initiatives.
In conclusion, I am excited about the opportunity to lead LUUTIS towards greater success and growth. With my passion for finance, my experience in leadership, and my vision for the future of the society, I am confident that I can provide an enriching experience for all members. Thank you for considering my candidacy for Vice-President of the Leeds University Trading and Investments Society.

Kostadin Iliev
Greetings,
My name is Kostadin Iliev, a 1st year Accounting and Finance student and it is with great pleasure that I am applying to be part of the committee of LUUTIS.
First, I want to say a bit about my motivation, I am someone who strives to better myself and the people around me. It is quite evident that in today’s work climate just doing studies and nothing else will leave you quite perplexed as to how to approach the finance industry and land a good job. I want to be the catalyst that would allow people from the society to better themselves and gain valuable insight into the finance industry.
So why vote for me? Well to begin with I am quite familiar with the way the university works. Currently, I am the treasurer of Lupton Residences as well as the representative of the 1st year Accounting and Finance students. I have experience organising events by coordinating efforts between LUU and other committee members and am keen on improving the community around me. Apart from that I have also worked with the Leeds Gryphons as a business analyst and more recently, I have become a part of The Junior IB which is a site created by students for students to help people gain valuable knowledge and skills needed for the finance industry while also providing market insiders.
Ok then, what are my plans for LUUTIS? I plan on making LUUTIS an important part of the CV of every member, as well as making the society more engaging. I pledge that I will organise events in a way that would help you stand out in front of any employer. I will establish a volunteering programme that would partner with local charities to make a meaningful change. I will consolidate social events and make them less but more meaningful and seek to partner with other universities’ societies to establish a network of like-minded and knowledge-seeking individuals. What I believe to be the most important though, are industry insiders from professionals. I will organize as many professional insight events as possible so that members can have an understanding of the different parts of the finance industry.
Thank you for reading and I hope you make the right decision by voting for me,
Kostadin Iliev
