Having been an active member of LUUTIS as a first-year, engaging with the current committee and society members, I would be elated to serve as the next Secretary of LUUTIS. Having built my own student financial research organisation, The Junior IB, leading over 30 members and organising successful events, I believe I possess the leadership and interpersonal skills to excel in the role. In addition to fulfilling the duties that come with the role, I aim to bring new initiatives and ideas to LUUTIS. Also, having completed multiple internships in finance roles, I believe I can add immense value to members and my future team in the form of connections and guidance. LUUTIS has been a crucial part of my university journey so far and it would be an honour to be on the society's committee.

My name is Aditya Phadke, and I would like to nominate myself for the position of the LUUTIS Secretary. I am currently on a 12-month industrial placement at Deloitte and will be resuming my bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance starting this September. I believe that I am perfectly suited to the role due to my experiences and qualifications. To start off, my current role at Deloitte requires me to maintain and manage client relationships on a daily basis to ensure that there are no inconsistencies between our delivery of services and the client’s expectations. I constantly need to communicate and coordinate with senior executive staff at asset management firms, wealth management firms and leading insurance brokers across the country. Further, I have taken up the role to act as an intermediary between the client team and senior management at Deloitte to schedule general as well as progress report meetings as per the availability of both parties. I was also elected by the new joiners at Deloitte to be their representative and make sure their views regarding essential employee training were heard by senior management. Subsequent to presenting their views, I had to assist senior management with structuring and planning the training sessions appropriately and hence was responsible for managing relationships between the management and new joiners. I was also involved in the scheduling and organisation of Culture and Diversity events at Deloitte, and had to give a presentation on Diversity to all the staff from the Manchester and Leeds office. Besides this, I have been awarded a scholarship for being a top 10 student with the highest grades in Accounting and Finance for two consecutive years, which exhibits my interest in finance and willingness to delve deeper in this area. As a member of the committee, I aim to bring these skills and experiences to the table to ensure that the society runs smoothly. I will ensure that the society achieves high levels of success through proper prior planning and coordination. I pledge to be an effective communicator and intermediary between the Leeds University Union and fellow committee members. I will make sure that crucial discussions are facilitated as well as encouraged by scheduling committee meetings and organizing the society’s calendar. Further, I aim to source newsletter content from content providers such that members are presented with a breadth as well as depth of knowledge while also ensuring that there isn’t an overload of information. I will ensure that all members gain value from being a part of the society and that everyone develops the skills necessary to be successful in their career. Vote for me to make LUUTIS the best society at Leeds University! Although I wasn’t able to actively engage with the society this year due to my placement, I would love to be on the committee and contribute to its organisation in the following academic year, so thank you for considering my candidacy for the role. I look forward to being a part of the committee!

Bassam Yaish
Hello,
I am Bassam Yaish, I am a first year Economics and Finance student here at the University of Leeds. I am delighted to present myself as a candidate for the Secretary position at LUUTIS.
As a member of LUUTIS, I see LUUTIS as an engaging society, and will strive to continue the success of this society as a secretary.
Throughout my academic experience, and the different roles that I have taken on, I can confidently say that I was able to develop many of the skills that are vital for such position. I have had previous experience in different roles, and I currently act as a Student Ambassador for the University of Leeds.
I am keen that my experience will allow me to perform my responsibilities as a Secretary very professionally.
As a secretary, I will insure to bring strong communication and organizational skills to this role, so that previous successes of the society are continued. Both organization and communication skills will be of great importance for me, as I believe that they are the two pillars that allows any society to stand.
I will make sure that all members of the Trading and Investment society will feel a sense of connection and will make all members well-informed of any new activities, opportunities, and events, through regular communications.
I will work on organizing different events for the society and will endeavor to make the calendar full of exciting events all throughout the year. I will work closely with other committee members, so that I can gain feedback about the nature of events and opportunities that are requested and will ensure that all ideas are communicated effectively and regularly.
Finally, I would like to express my excitement to take on this role and would like to declare that I will be fully committed to LUUTIS and make next year a very great one!

Hello, I am Ben Ruth, I am a first year BSc Economics student.
Following my strong involvement this year with the LUUTIS society as a financial analyst in the virtual fund competition, I am keen to remained integrated in this society for the 2023/24 academic year. This society has been highly beneficial to my first year here at Leeds, enabling me to go to events, meet new people and develop my education. Therefore, I would like to be a part of the team that ensures the same effect for first years and all members next year.
I am certain I can provide immediate news and reports on upcoming LUUTIS events and work intimately with committee members to create valuable events for all members, as I already keep a keen eye on events so as not to miss out. This will create a strong sense of community for all members who will be involved and up to date, with their interest at heart of all decisions I will make.
Drawing from past experiences and positions of responsibility I can bring strong communication and leadership where necessary in this role. Having been a FA referee for the past 6 years I am used to operating in a pressurised environment which requires great communication as well as skills in leadership and responsibility which I can apply to the secretary role.
I look forward to arranging committee meetings because they bring productivity to the society and help us as a committee give a competitive edge to all members. I would be thankful to fulfil this role next year and be part of bring lots of exciting events to the LUUTIS society so I would appreciate backing in this,

Kostadin Iliev
Greetings,
My name is Kostadin Iliev, a 1st year Accounting and Finance student and it is with great pleasure that I am applying to be part of the committee of LUUTIS.
First, I want to say a bit about my motivation, I am someone who strives to better myself and the people around me. It is quite evident that in today’s work climate just doing studies and nothing else will leave you quite perplexed as to how to approach the finance industry and land a good job. I want to be the catalyst that would allow people from the society to better themselves and gain valuable insight into the finance industry.
So why vote for me? Well to begin with I am quite familiar with the way the university works. Currently, I am the treasurer of Lupton Residences as well as the representative of the 1st year Accounting and Finance students. I have experience organising events by coordinating efforts between LUU and other committee members and am keen on improving the community around me. Apart from that I have also worked with the Leeds Gryphons as a business analyst and more recently, I have become a part of The Junior IB which is a site created by students for students to help people gain valuable knowledge and skills needed for the finance industry while also providing market insiders.
Ok then, what are my plans for LUUTIS? I plan on making LUUTIS an important part of the CV of every member, as well as making the society more engaging. I pledge that I will organise events in a way that would help you stand out in front of any employer. I will establish a volunteering programme that would partner with local charities to make a meaningful change. I will consolidate social events and make them less but more meaningful and seek to partner with other universities’ societies to establish a network of like-minded and knowledge-seeking individuals. What I believe to be the most important though, are industry insiders from professionals. I will organize as many professional insight events as possible so that members can have an understanding of the different parts of the finance industry.
Thank you for reading and I hope you make the right decision by voting for me,
Kostadin Iliev
