As a candidate for the Careers Secretary position in LUUTIS, I am excited to take on the responsibility of supporting members in their career development. With my experience on a mentoring scheme programme with PwC, I have gained valuable insights into the recruitment process and industry expectations. I am committed to utilizing this knowledge to produce an application tracker for Spring Weeks, Summer Internships, and Placements across industries, and to communicate on-campus opportunities such as guest lectures and career fairs to members. Additionally, I am eager to manage the relationship with the career service to ensure that our members have access to the best resources and guidance. I am dedicated to helping our members reach their career goals and am thrilled to contribute to the success of LUUTIS.

Hi! My name is Janicce and I would love to be your next careers secretary!

Since my first year, I have been keen on learning as much as possible about the career opportunities available in finance. Through my vast experience through insight days, spring weeks, guest lectures and LUUTIS events, I have gained an insight into careers available in investment banking, investment management, private equity, consulting and insurance and strive to learn more.

I am constantly on the hunt for new opportunities and I intend to alert you of all the exciting opportunities to gain insight and experience both on and off campus. Through creating and continuously updating the application tracker, I aim to ensure that LUUTIS members can explore various interests across trading, investing and the wider the financial sector. Therefore even if your interests lie beyond trading or investment, such as in insurance or consulting, you will know of those opportunities too.

I’m organised and efficient with time management as I have managed applications, extracurricular society activities and my responsibilities as a PASS leader alongside my studies. I have strong interpersonal skills and extensive experience working in teams. I intend to use my skills in maintaining and developing a relationship with the careers service to cater to your needs.

As a second year Economics student, I have previously undergone the entire application process for spring insight weeks, industrial placements and summer internships. I have successfully secured spring weeks and insight opportunities at Deutsche Bank, PwC, Fidelity International and Dare, and will be an upcoming intern at both a private equity firm and wealth management firm this summer. Consequently, I have a deep wealth of knowledge of the entire application process, including CV and cover letters, psychometric tests, phone, video and in-person interviews as well as assessment centres. Additionally, as a mentee on the LUBS Nurturing Talent Mentor Scheme, I have implemented valuable advice with regards to career planning and applications. Furthermore, through networking with industry professionals, notably early career recruiters, I have a well-rounded understanding of what qualities required look for in bright students such as yourselves! I am happy to offer insights, tips and advice for LUUTIS members undergoing applications.

I have been an active member of LUUTIS for the last year and it has been an incredible experience. I hope to contribute to enriching your experiences as your next career secretary!

Having been an active member of LUUTIS as a first-year, engaging with the current committee and society members, I would be elated to serve as the next Careers Secretary of LUUTIS. Having built my own student financial research organisation, The Junior IB, leading over 30 members and organising successful events, I believe I possess the leadership and interpersonal skills to excel in the role. In addition to fulfilling the duties that come with the role, I aim to bring new initiatives and ideas to LUUTIS. Also, having completed multiple internships in finance roles, I believe I can add immense value to members and my future team in the form of connections and guidance. LUUTIS has been a crucial part of my university journey so far and it would be an honour to be on the society's committee.

As an undergrad doing Economics and Finance, I have a keen interest in the financial sector which lead to my active participation in the society this year. Having participated in the NorthEdge private equity challenge, it allowed me to enter and experience various financial simulations while presenting case studies on financial markets backing them up. The Amplify simulation on the other hand assisted me to take a deep look within the investment and asset management sector while attending various guest lectures and career events helped me be more active with the industrial updates. Serving as a Growth Marketing Coordinator at EasyTransfer, my role entails researching on current market opportunities while getting in touch with the professionals within the industry. I firmly believe that my current and previous roles in the industry can aid in expanding society connections proving an asset to the future committee. Being an indispensable part of my university experience so far, LUUTIS has provided me with plenty of opportunities and it would be a privilege to give back and more!
