Having been an active member of LUUTIS as a first-year, engaging with the current committee and society members, I would be elated to serve as the next Chairperson of LUUTIS. Having built my own student financial research organisation, The Junior IB, leading over 30 members and organising successful events, I believe I possess the leadership and interpersonal skills to excel in the role. In addition to fulfilling the duties that come with the role, I aim to bring new initiatives and ideas to LUUTIS. Also, having completed multiple internships in finance roles, I believe I can add immense value to members and my future team in the form of connections and guidance. LUUTIS has been a crucial part of my university journey so far and it would be an honour to be on the society's committee.

Hello,
I am Bassam Yaish, I am a first year Economics and Finance student here at the University of Leeds. I am delighted to present myself as a candidate for the Chairperson position at LUUTIS.
As a member of LUUTIS, I see LUUTIS as an engaging society, and will strive to continue the success of this society as a Chairperson.
Throughout my academic experience, and the different roles that I have taken on, I can confidently say that I was able to develop many of the skills that will serve me really well if I am elected for this position.
Starting a nationwide tutoring program along with some of my classmates in my senior year has allowed me to practice leadership and organization skills. The program involved tutoring around 90 student from all around my country, Jordan, and I can safely say that we have made this program a success; where we were recognized by national media outlets across Jordan.
In my role, I will work closely with LUBS, where I will work on fostering communication and plan events that work in the benefit of the members. I will ensure that communication is well bridged between the business school and our society, and will strive to plan out events that will equip the members of LUUTIS with the necessary skills and insights, in collaboration with LUBS.
I will also work on making specific society merchandise, which will work on promoting the society even further. I will work on making useful merchandise, that would truly benefit the members, and establish a great sense of connection with LUUTIS.
Finally, I would like to declare that I will be fully committed to LUUTIS and make next year a very great one. Thank you for considering my candidacy.

I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the position of Chairperson of LUUTIS. As a first-year student pursuing a BSc in Banking and Finance, I am enthusiastic about the world of finance and investing, and I am excited to bring my skills and experience to the society.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. As an Associate at ODT Capital, I managed and assisted a team of four talented analysts from LSE and University College London. This experience helped me develop strong leadership skills and fostered productive relationships with team members and external partners. Additionally, I co-founded the Junior Investment Banker, a student-led research organization dedicated to authoring comprehensive deal reports. Through this initiative, I gained a deep understanding of the financial markets and honed my communication and organizational skills.
If elected as Chairperson of LUUTIS, I am committed to leveraging my skills and experience to drive the society towards greater success. My vision for LUUTIS centers on collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity. I believe that by working together and embracing new ideas, we can create a dynamic and engaging community that empowers our members to achieve their full potential.
One of my key goals as Chairperson would be to host expert speakers who can provide our members with valuable insights and knowledge related to finance and investing. I plan on building a strong network, and using this network to bring in speakers who can offer unique perspectives and highlight exciting developments in the financial world. These talks would be interactive and engaging, allowing our members to learn from the best in the field and broaden their horizons.
I also believe that collaboration is key to success, and I would work to develop partnerships and joint initiatives with other societies to expand our reach and create exciting new opportunities for our members. By collaborating with other student groups, we can tap into new networks and resources and create a more dynamic and diverse community.
Another priority for me would be to expand our educational resources and opportunities. I am passionate about empowering our members with the right knowledge and skills, and I would work to enhance our society's resources, including developing workshops, seminars, and mentorship opportunities to deepen our members' understanding of trading and investments. I would also explore partnerships with financial institutions to provide real-world learning experiences and internships to our members.
To provide members with hands-on experience in trading and investment decision-making, I would organize trading competitions and simulations. These events would enable members to put their knowledge and skills to the test, gain practical experience, and receive feedback from experts in the field. I would also work to explore opportunities to convert our current virtual fund into a real one, providing our members with a more interactive and hands-on experience, while enhancing our understanding of financial markets and investment strategies.
Finally, I would focus on enhancing the society's online presence. In today's digital age, having a strong online presence is essential, and I would revamp the society's website and social media platforms, making them more engaging and informative. I would also leverage these platforms to showcase the society's events and activities, attract new members, and connect with industry professionals.
As Chairperson of LUUTIS, I would also be committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment within the society. I believe that diversity and teamwork are critical to success, and I would actively encourage members from all backgrounds and levels of experience to participate and contribute to the society. I would establish regular feedback channels to gather input from members and incorporate their ideas into the society's activities and initiatives.
In conclusion, I am excited about the opportunity to lead LUUTIS towards greater success and growth. With my passion for finance, my experience in leadership, and my vision for the future of the society, I am confident that I can provide an enriching experience for all members. Thank you for considering my candidacy for Chairperson of the Leeds University Trading and Investments Society.

Victor-Matei Tascau
My name is Victor-Matei Tascau and I am a third year Economics and Finance Student. I have been part of LUUTIS for three years now, currently serving as the incumbent Treasurer and I want to continue helping the society grow and develop as I go into my final year at University. Over these past three years, I have built up my experience through numerous internships and active collaboration opportunities with society members and academic staff, which I plan on utilising to enact a bold new vision for the Society and its future.
I know how a student feels when they first join a society such as LUUTIS, and how each activity that the Society provides can be leveraged in job hunts. My experience can help me guide the new committee towards greater heights for the Society while also keeping in mind the needs and aspirations of every member. LUUTIS has grown so much this year and I want to capitalise on that momentum to ensure that our good standing as a society remains for future members to enjoy.
As the incumbent President of Leeds Finsights, my vision entails a merger of the two organisations which will not only boost engagement with the Society but will also allow keen members to showcase their financial acumen. Once the merger is complete, I plan on starting a weekly financial report which will allow groups of up to four analysts to research information related to public market events, financial insights and macroeconomics. Each report will be published by the Society, giving members the opportunity to not only grow their technical skillset but also share their findings with their peers and potential employers.
I believe that my experience, my vision and my passion all stand to prove my fitness for this role and I truly hope that my plans for the future can be shared with every member of the society.
