I am applying for Careers and Sponsorship Secretary with a clear ambition to strengthen LUBS’ relationships with top firms and create meaningful opportunities for students. Through my existing connections with professionals at EY, Rothschild & Co, and HSBC, I aim to secure high-quality events and long-term sponsorships that directly benefit members. I am particularly focused on delivering practical, engaging careers initiatives that bridge the gap between students and industry. Alongside this, my commitment to the LUBS football team reflects my dedication, teamwork, and willingness to contribute consistently to the society beyond academics. Balancing sport and professional ambition has strengthened my time management and resilience, qualities I would bring to this role. Overall, I am motivated to enhance LUBS’ reputation, expand its network, and ensure members gain maximum value from its careers offering.

I'm Adam, a 3rd year BSc International Business and Marketing student, currently on a placement year at L’Oréal.

I'd love to take on the role of Careers & Sponsorship Secretary for LUBS Society next year, and believe I am qualified for a few reasons:

I have gained lots of experience working a variety of jobs, work experience and internships that I am keen to share.

I have successfully completed the application process for internships and jobs on numerous occasions, understanding what makes you stand out on your CV, in interviews and on LinkedIn.

I have completed courses related to, and been sat on, the hiring team's side for assessment centres and interviews, leading me to develop an understanding of what employers are looking for.

I have a range of ideas that I believe will benefit each of you as students into getting clarity on what is required to get the jobs YOU want, such as workshops, career query inboxes and networking events.

I understand the stress and struggles that applying for job roles brings, especially whilst trying to enjoy your time at University. Having been through this process myself, I can share my experiences and advice with you.

Hey everyone, I’m Millie and I’m excited to be running for Careers & Sponsorships Secretary! Having been involved in the society, I’ve seen how valuable careers events and partnerships are, and I’d love to play a key role in developing these opportunities further for our members.

I’m currently on my study abroad year at North Carolina State University, where I’ve been building my communication and organisational skills, alongside gaining experience engaging with sponsors and developing mutually beneficial partnerships through practicum classes. This has made me confident in reaching out, maintaining professional relationships, and delivering value for both members and external partners.

I’m also a Communications Intern for NC State Athletics, where I’ve had the opportunity to network and build strong relationships with university sponsors such as Adidas and Coca-Cola. Through this role, I’ve gained valuable insight into how successful sponsor partnerships are built and maintained.

Having attended LUBS’ Night of Professional Exchange in 2024, I’ve seen firsthand how impactful it can be in connecting students with industry professionals. I’d love the opportunity to organise this event and make it a standout experience for members.
