G'day fellow lifters and liftets,

I’m throwing my name in for Social Media & Marketing Sec because, quite honestly, I’ve got nothing to do after my dissertation, and I love this society. I only joined Barbell in September, but in that short time, it’s become one of the best parts of my uni experience. I love the atmosphere, the people, and, of course, the lifting, so I’d love the chance to help grow the club and make our socials reflect how great this society is.

I’ve got a little experience in social media management, photography, and branding from my degree, plus I’ve managed socials for a creative studio before—so I've got some idea of how to keep things fresh and engaging. Our socials already slay... but I want to make the Barbell Instagram the holy grail of lifting content—if you hit a PB and it’s not on the feed, did it even happen?

If elected, I’d:
- Get more footage from training sessions and comps: actual lifting clips, hype reels, and monthly training dumps so everyone (who wants in) gets their moment to shine.
- Design some sick promo materials for Freshers Fair to bring in new members (let’s make Barbell the society to join).
-Keep the Instagram consistently active with member spotlights, PB shoutouts, and a few funny bits from recent socials.
-Maybe even try out some TikTok content- barbell memes? Gym fails? Who knows, but it could be fun.

And let’s be real—what good is my art degree if I don’t use it to make some top-tier lifting content while I still can?

I just want to make sure the society’s social media properly reflects how great this club is. If you want someone who knows how to make things look good, keep the feed fun n' active, and of course comes equipped with wicked good looks and a speedy wit, then vote for me. Cheers!

Hey team! I’d love to be considered for the role of Social Media Secretary. I’ve got some experience running my own lifting profile, editing YouTube videos, and creating content that’s a bit more exciting than just blurry gym selfies.

I’d love to use the Instagram page to really show off what makes Leeds Barbell so great – from training clips and comp highlights to lifter spotlights and a few memes thrown in for good measure. I think our socials should reflect how fun, supportive, and strong this community is.

I’d also love to feature more of our lifters’ own profiles and make the page feel like a true showcase of everything we do. If you fancy a feed full of PBs, power moves and a bit of personality, I’d be honoured to help make it happen!
