Hey everyone! I am honored to put forth my nomination for the role of President of the RAG Committee. Having served as an event coordinator in the past, I have developed a strong skill set that will enable me to lead our committee effectively and ensure the success of our fundraising initiatives.
During my tenure as an event coordinator, I was responsible for organizing movie nights, Diwali party and blind dates event. This experience has equipped me with invaluable skills in management, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively. I have demonstrated proficiency in tasks such as booking venues, coordinating with vendors, and managing logistics, all of which will be crucial in planning and executing our fundraising events.
If elected as President, I will work tirelessly to lead our committee in organizing innovative and engaging fundraising events that capture the attention and support of our fellow students and the wider community. I will strive to foster an inclusive and collaborative environment within the committee, encouraging the exchange of ideas and leveraging the diverse talents and perspectives of our members.

The Leeds Raise and Give (RAG) Committee plays a vital role in upholding our university's proud tradition of community service and philanthropy. If elected, I pledge to take our RAG efforts to exciting new heights.
Leeds students have generous hearts, donating thousands of hours and raising impressive funds year after year. As your RAG President, I will double down on our most successful initiatives while pursuing fresh, innovative ideas to increase our impact.
First, we will revamp our flagship fundraising events like the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and Make Your Mark on Campus. With creative promotion, corporate sponsorships, and robust online donation platforms, we can smash previous fundraising records.
Additionally, I will spearhead new events designed to capture the incredible spirit of our student body. Ideas like an e-sports charity gaming tournament, and a Chocathon eating contest to raise funds through an untapped revenue stream – delicious snacks!
Beyond fundraising, I am passionate about expanding hands-on volunteering opportunities. We will launch new partnerships with local schools for tutoring and mentorship programs, and organize neighbourhood revitalization projects to clean up parks and green spaces across Leeds. And I'll partner with on-campus resource centres to increase volunteerism in supporting marginalized groups.
Our giving and service extends globally too. I will explore an international alternative break program, where students can travel abroad over holidays to work with underprivileged communities on sustainable projects.
Finally, I want to celebrate and honour Leed its culture of generosity. An annual Heart of Gold awards night will recognize our most outstanding student fundraisers, event organizers, and volunteers with donations made in their name.
This is an ambitious vision - but I know our compassionate student body can make it a reality. When we work together through RAG to both raise funds and give selflessly, we contribute to something greater than ourselves. Vote for me to lead this vital effort to make our communities stronger and our world better.
