Hi everyone! My name is Swetha Pandy, and I am a third-year medical student. I am excited to stand for the Educational Lead position within DermSoc, because I am passionate about medical education and have a growing interest in dermatology.

Alongside my studies, I have been actively involved in Medic Mum, where I have supported and mentored younger medical students as they navigate medical school. Through this role, I have developed strong communication and teaching skills and gained an appreciation for the value of accessible, high-quality educational resources. Helping other students has been one of the most rewarding parts of my medical school experience, and it has encouraged me to become more involved in educational initiatives.

I have also recently returned from intercalating in Anatomy at King's College London, where I developed a deeper understanding of clinically relevant anatomy, gained experience in a range of surgical skills, and undertook a research project investigating mechanisms involved in skin cancer metastasis. This experience strengthened my interest in dermatology and gave me a greater appreciation of the scientific and clinical aspects of the specialty.

If elected, I will work closely with the committee to ensure that DermSoc's educational content is engaging, accurate, and relevant for students across all year groups. I would like to help develop revision resources, clinical case discussions, and mock OSCE stations that support students in building confidence with common dermatological conditions. I am also keen to contribute to events that allow students to explore dermatology beyond the curriculum in an approachable and enjoyable way.

As someone who is still learning and exploring the specialty myself, I believe this role would be a valuable opportunity to deepen my own understanding of dermatology while helping to create useful learning opportunities for others. Through developing educational content, engaging with current evidence, and working alongside the committee, I hope to contribute positively to the society while continuing to learn from those around me.

Hi everyone, I’m Omotola and I’d love to nominate myself for Medical Education Representative for DermSoc.

I’ve just finished third year and I’m going into fourth year, so I know how important it is to have resources that are clear, practical and actually useful alongside placement and exams. I’m really interested in dermatology because it is such a visual specialty and I think it is one of those topics where good teaching can make a big difference. A lot of skin conditions can look similar when you are revising, so organised resources with good clinical images and explanations can really help things click.

One thing I would really care about in this role is making sure DermSoc resources are diverse, especially with how conditions present on different skin tones. Dermatology resources can sometimes be limited in that way, so I think it would be valuable to make our teaching more representative and useful for more students.

I have experience tutoring and making revision content easier to understand, and I’ve also been on committee before as the African and Caribbean Society Media and Creative Director. That has helped me with organisation, teamwork, planning content, and thinking about how to make resources engaging rather than overwhelming.

As Medical Education Representative, I’d be excited to help with teaching events, resource uploads and developing mock OSCE stations that are useful and clinically relevant. I’d love to contribute to DermSoc and help make dermatology feel more approachable for students.

Hi everyone! I'm Minahil, and I'll be going into 5th year this September.

I'd love to nominate myself for the role of Medical Representative for DermSoc. Having been part of the committee last year in an academic role, I really enjoyed contributing to the society and would love the opportunity to do so again. One thing I'm particularly passionate about is making medical resources more accessible and easier to understand for students.

I find dermatology a fascinating specialty with a huge amount to learn, definitely more than most people realise! It's a field that can have a life changing impact on patients, which is one of the many reasons it interests me so much. This role would be an amazing opportunity to further develop my knowledge while helping others engage with the specialty as well.

Alongside my experience on committee, I also have a background in teaching through my work as a tutor. I believe these experiences have given me the communication and organisational skills needed to be an effective Medical Representative.
