Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Vision:
    • Set the overall direction and vision for the Dance Society, keeping the committee motivated and focused on shared goals.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating strong commitment, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Communication and Organization:
    • Chair regular committee meetings, ensuring clear communication and effective delegation of tasks.
    • Act as the Dance Society's primary spokesperson, liaising with the university, external organizations, and potential sponsors.
    • Maintain open communication with members, addressing concerns and fostering a sense of community.
  • Event Management:
    • Oversee the planning and execution of dance workshops, socials, performances, and other society events.
    • Work collaboratively with the committee to create a diverse and engaging event calendar.
    • Secure venues, equipment, and instructors as needed.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Manage the Dance Society's budget responsibly, ensuring all expenditures are documented and approved.
    • Work with the treasurer to develop fundraising initiatives, if necessary.
  • Growth and Development:
    • Promote the Dance Society at university fairs and events, attracting new members.
    • Explore opportunities for collaboration with other societies or dance groups on campus.
    • Identify and implement initiatives to improve the overall member experience.
