Formally the Head of Media and Communications and a policy researcher, I have loved every minute within the Leeds Think Tank. As such, for our second year running, I wish to play a greater role in the overall coordination of the society. A founding member, I believe that my love of LTT and passion for high-quality research will enable me to be the best vice-president I can be. With a range of committee experience as the Head of Media and Communications - and experience as vice-President at the debating union - I believe I am well versed in the functioning of both LTT and university societies in general. With these skills that I have developed, I believe I am the best choice for vice-president. So yeah... vote for me :D.

As the current policy group leader for the Macro Policy division, I am passionate towards contributing to the success of the think tank in any way I can. Given that I will most likely be situated in Leeds for my placement over the next academic year, I am certain that I will be more than capable to continue contributing to the think tank through developing the opportunities available to you as your future Vice-President.

My main interest as Vice-President would lie in organising events of the highest value in close collaboration with the Head of Public Affairs. I am certain that our completed research will significantly improve our reputability and thus enable us to invite many more speakers and guests. As such, effective event management and organisation will be paramount to the success of any future events we hold. Therefore, I will ensure that any administrative processes are completed with utmost efficiency, and that consistent communication is maintained with any potential guests we may bring. Being on a placement year in the Civil Service would also potentially provide me with the opportunity to meet many accomplished professionals in a variety of fields related to our research who could provide valuable insights, and so I will use this to our advantage.

Furthermore, I aim to continue contributing towards unlocking the full potential of our research department. In collaboration with the Head of Research, I wish to develop a closer professional relationship with the faculty and promote our image to a larger audience beyond economics and politics students exclusively. In doing so, I wish to attract a wider variety of talent from a myriad of disciplines related to our research, be it from degrees more closely related to environmental sciences, banking and finance, or those part of the transport school among many others. I believe the specialised and niche knowledge provided by this talent would enable our research department to generate the highest quality of output and introduce a wider variety of perspectives to our existing and growing community. Moreover, developing a closer relationship to the faculty creates the opportunity to offer more workshops and activities that will nurture the talent of our researchers further, which I will be working towards organising.

Besides these responsibilities, the skills I will develop during my placement with the Civil Service in addition to my current experience within the think tank will allow me to offer useful advice to our future researchers. While I will be undertaking a placement during my potential tenure as Vice-President, I have demonstrated the capability to manage time efficiently in delivering the Macro Policy report with my talented team. I am determined to use these skills and give my best effort in making LTT/LPI the best experience it could be.
