Dear members,

I am Srinandni Verma, a first-year undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor's in Economics and Mathematics. I’m beyond excited to throw my hat in the ring for the Chief Editor role in the Women in Leadership Society.

I want to make sure that everything is student-friendly and crystal clear, which means providing all the information our members need to get involved and stay in the loop. Whether it’s upcoming events, opportunities for mentorship, or ways to connect with other members, I’ve got it covered.

How about themed editions? Perhaps a “Women in STEM” edition or a “Leadership Lessons in History” edition. The possibilities are infinite.

As Chief Editor, I’m about making sure our message shines bright. Whether it’s through killer newsletters, engaging stories, or just some good old-fashioned word wizardry, I’m here to make sure we’re engaging folks far and wide.

In the spirit of the society’s ethos, let’s rewrite the narrative and lead the way towards a brighter, more inclusive future- one page at a time.

Hi Lovely Ladies !

My name is Fortune Onovo . I've had the pleasure of meeting a lot of you through getting involved in events like the Empower Conference , the LinkedIn Photoshoot . Im currently looking forward to the The Box Office Work experience day this week !

Becoming your Chief Editor would be my way of being a more intimate member of the Women in Leadership society . I would get to join the amazing women in the society in making magic happen , all whilst honing in on one of my passions which is writing (as you can probably tell by my History degree).

My vision for the Newspaper would be creating a safe space where we can share ideas , experiences and opportunities .

As your Chief Editor I would pledge to
- Keep the Ideas Rolling
-Inspire , Inform and Innovate
-Get all the lovely members of the society involved in the Newspaper (I.e. through features)

I aim to continuously conjure up new Innovative ideas

This is just one of my ideas to give you a taste of what you could expect :

I.e . I would introduce ‘Women Crush Wednesdays!’-

Want a space to feel inspired my women who have already made it or also on their journeys to success ? Look no further than our 'Women Crush Wednesdays' - Putting a Spotlight on career women breaking barriers in not just their profession but other facets of life .

As a sub category of this I would have a day where we have a focus on successful BAME women. As a black woman myself I know how underrepresented we can be in certain professions . This is why I am currently the Person of Colour Representative of the Women In Leadership Society and why as Chief Editor,I pledge to promote inclusivity and encourage underrepresented groups .

I’m super aware of the demands of the role which is why I can assure you I have the experience and skills to make sure I am effective in this role .

Most particularly my role as A Research Assistant for Historic England (an official public body of the government ) in which I completed a funded research project independently. From this I have gained the organisational skills to keep up with the demands of the role .

Hello everyone! My name is Ipek Taskin, and I am a placement year student studying International Business and Marketing. I am originally Turkish, but I am continuing my studies in the UK. I was the Event Director for the 2022-2023 committee, where I organized numerous successful events, and I would love to be the next Chief Editor and continue my journey with WILS. Women in Leadership has helped me grow not only personally but also academically and professionally. I would love to further contribute to the safe space that WILS provides as the next Chief Editor.

I have been interested in drawing and editing since I was little. I love creating new designs and playing around with ideas. I believe that my creative and innovative mindset will benefit WILS when coming up with new features and keeping the newsletter aesthetically pleasing and interesting. For example, I am planning to create new sections giving the spotlight to our sponsors and many other global companies to strengthen our relationship and industry connections. Thus, members will learn about our sponsors and the companies that they might be interested in working in the future. Recommendations about Leeds and Internship and grad role opportunities will also be included! I hope to help all students (particularly international) secure internships while also including top tips from successful WILS members and alumni. I will ensure that the newsletter will be up to WILS standards, monthly and on time. I believe that it is important to listen to the feedback and ideas of the members and committee. I am excited to collaborate with the Event Director and Social Media Secretary to showcase what events and updates happened that month. I am experienced in Canva, Photoshop, and other software.

I can confidently state that I have acquired vast experience in marketing, Newsletter creation, and social media in the last 8 years within various roles. I have completed the first 6 months of my placement at Ansys as the Marketing Intern where I created the monthly Global newsletter that was sent to the company worldwide, created social media posts managed email campaigns, and much more. Now I am completing my placement at MAPEI (an Italian global company) where I continue executing similar duties to my last internship including the newsletter. I am also the Media Director of Uni of Leeds Gryphon Racing. My duties include developing a monthly newsletter, including team members, car updates, and sponsors. I also manage all social media post creations, TikTok and Instagram Reel editing. I additionally completed my summer Internship at the United Nations Turkey as a Social Media Marketing and Editor Intern.

I believe that I will be the perfect choice for the Chief Editor as I already have the experience of being on the committee alongside my industry experience.
