Hello girls,

I am Vasiliki, currently in my penultimate year pursuing a degree in Accounting and Finance.
I began my accounting journey when I was 14 and over the years, I have gained a deep understanding of various financial concepts.
As both a PASS Leader and a Course Representative this academic year, I have honed my skills in effective communication and collaboration with both my peers and professors.
These roles have highlighted the significance of being a good listener, a trait I intend to bring to the role of Treasurer of WILS. I am committed to encourage an environment where every member’s voice is heard and welcome all event ideas with an open mind. While not every proposal may come to fruition, I strongly believe that maintaining financial stability and operating withing our budgetary constraints is paramount. In my view, a cost-efficient approach is ideal where events will come to life without draining the society’s resources as the longevity of WILS is at the forefront of my priorities. Additionally, I have championed and plan on upholding the principles of transparency and disclosure as open communication fosters trust.

Considering my academic, extracurricular and professional experiences, I believe I am a suitable to serve as Treasurer. However, it is ultimately up to you to decide.

Hi! I'm Urvi, a third-year economics student and ex-head of podcasting for WILS from 23/24. This year, I'm running for the role of Treasurer and here's what I have planned for us this year!
1. Better budgeting - allocate resources where we need it most. This year was great, but we can always do better.
2. Find the funds - explore more sponsorship opportunities. Our society deserves it, and I'm going to convince more firms why we do!
3. Host financial workshops for members to increase our financial literacy. Imagine fun, interactive financial workshops with experts who know what they're talking about, followed by free refreshments of course.
4. Transparency and accessibility - keep the society’s finances transparent and accessible to all. All members deserve to know what's going on in those Excel sheets, it's not as boring as you think.

Outside of WILS and economics, I also enjoy going to the gym, looking for affordable cafes around Leeds, and watching Shahrukh Khan movies (look him up, thank me later x).
