My name is Nandini Aarya Singh, I am a third-year student with a bucketload of experience as an event planner and communicator.

As the Arts and Humanities Director, I look forward to working with everyone at WILS and build stronger relationships with different societies and firms for WILS. Additionally, planning exciting events such as outdoor paintings, networking events and exhibition opportunities showcasing your work.

Taking forward the WILS spirit, with my deep commitment of fostering women empowerment I am eager to contribute my skills and energy to work towards an environment that is welcoming women from diverse backgrounds and want to thrive in leadership roles.

Hey ladies!

I'm Shiza & I'm a second-year law student. After the success of the Empower Conference 2024 as the Corporate and External Relations Associate, I have decided to run for the Arts and Humanities Director position.

As Arts and Humanities Director, I envision a year filled with vibrant and impactful events tailored to meet the interests and needs of students in our community.

Drawing upon my experience in organization and leadership, I am eager to collaborate with fellow societies and firms to ensure the success of our future endeavours. Through transparent communication and strategic networking, I aim to provide an array of enriching opportunities, from office visits and panel discussions to movie nights and insight days, that cater to the spectrum of our members' interests. Moreover, I hope to introduce a mentoring scheme which would connect students to professionals in their field for guidance.

Your voices matter, and I am committed to ensuring that every event reflects our collective desires and fosters inclusivity.

Hi WILS members ♥

I am Alaia Garcia-Mariscal, a first-year pursuing a BA in Fashion Marketing at the School of Design.

From the second I could coordinate my hands as a toddler to the many ceramic classes as a preteen to eventually studying my passion at this University I have always searched for creative opportunities. However, at my ceramics studio I found myself organizing the shelves and volunteering to help other students learn more often than pursuing personal projects. My passion thus became less centred around the art itself and more centred around creating opportunities in creative industries.

At my high school, I created a girl's empowerment club (@fempowerlex on Instagram) to expose girls (and everyone!) to diverse women in leadership positions. I successfully coordinated many speaker events and collaborations with local women’s shelters to create a supportive network in our community. I would love to transfer these skills and put them into practice as the Arts and Humanities Director at WILS to curate a selection of opportunities, expand networks, and organize events for all members.

I will use my previous experience in public speaking and various fashion programs to form connections and networks with diverse people to seek sponsorships and connections. My Mother is from Mexico, my Father is from Spain, and I grew up in Boston, USA. Growing up in a multicultural household has taught me the value and importance of building awareness and opportunities for all, regardless of social, economic, and racial backgrounds. I hope to bring this into my role as Arts and Humanities Director in a grassroots effort to begin to make the creative industries more inclusive. I hope to organize events that cater to the needs of arts and humanities students while also creating a platform to invite all students, as I believe art and humanities are fundamental in all industries.

Greetings to all the ladies of our esteemed women's society!
I am Abhilasha Pathak, a first-year undergrad student pursuing a bachelor of science in Economics. Allow me to paint a picture of the fantastical world we're about to embark upon together. Imagine a place where confidence reigns supreme, laughter dances in the air, where every quirk is celebrated, and individuality shines brighter than a disco ball on a Saturday night.

As your prospective Arts and Humanities Director, I come not only armed with a gavel but wielding a wand of empowerment and a hat full of unconventional ideas. I will make sure to organise workshops and skill-building sessions such as creative writing, painting, photography, and theatre. Arrange art exhibitions showcasing members' work, facilitate book clubs and film screenings, and organise group outings to cultural events, museums, art galleries, theatrical performances, and historical landmarks. By implementing these activities and initiatives, I will create a vibrant and enriching experience for members of the WILS, fostering creativity, intellectual curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the arts and humanities.
