Hi everyone I’m Mahde. Most of you probably know me from the past two years I spent as the Treasurer of the Leeds Sudanese Society. Being part of the core team has helped me develop a wide range of skills that I’m confident will make me a strong President for the upcoming year.

One of the key achievements I’m proud of is doubling the finances of our beloved society. I also led the financial planning and fundraising efforts for this year’s Culture Night, where we successfully raised £1,000 for Sudan.

Working closely with this year’s President gave me the opportunity to build strong connections with committee members from other societies, both at the University of Leeds and across the UK. These relationships will be incredibly valuable in continuing to grow LSS and collaborate on exciting future events.

Because of my long-standing commitment to the society, I truly believe I’m the best candidate for this role. I’m excited to continue our work and take LSS even further—celebrating and sharing our culture with pride.
