I would love the role of Senior Editor for Her Campus at Leeds this year, as writing and editorial work are what I enjoy doing most and plan to pursue after uni. I’d really value being involved in something creative at university that also feels like it’s contributing to the meaningful cause of female voices in journalism. I’ve really writing articles this year, as taking a current event and putting my own spin on it to make news more engaging for young people is something I really value being able to do. I study English Literature and Philosophy, so writing, analysis and communication are already a huge part of my life. I am also currently working on my own novel, which has made me even more interested in storytelling, voice and the editing process behind strong writing. I really love the organisational process of writing, too, so I’d enjoy helping everyone keep track of deadlines and making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes. I’m hoping to go into journalism or publishing in the future, so being part of Her Campus in a committee role feels like something that will genuinely help me to hone these skills for the future. I’d love the chance to help shape content, support young writers and make Her Campus feel like a fun, welcoming space where people feel confident sharing their ideas.
