Hiya Freestylers, knowing how loud my voice is, I hope it comes as no surprise that I really want to become your next Vice President for next year! From the moment I went to the GIAG session I knew that this society was the right one for me, Freestyle has the perfect mix of fun and dedication in the society and as VP I want to continue this.
After being in 5 out of the 6 competition routines this year as well as being selected for the duet at intercomp + doing improv twice I have shown my dedication to this society. Being so involved with comp season has helped me appreciate how important organisation skills are to make sure all these routines thrive. I want to make a timetable that correctly allocates enough practice for the competition teams starting earlier in the year to make sure that everyone feels confident in themselves and the routine. I know some people might struggle to have faith in themselves when it comes to comps but know that I will be hyping you guys up every second of the way because I genuinely believe you are such a talented group of girls + Sam.
Alongside planning the Wednesday freestyle session, you know and love with new and old choreographers, I want to foster strong connections between the dance societies and encourage freestylers to try different styles through joint classes with, for example, salsa and heels, so you guys feel you're pushing yourselves and becoming diverse dancers. Alongside helping with technical training this also helps to keep dancing exciting especially during comp season where you are practicing the same dance as well as those not on comp teams to keep up with their dance training.
I have been training in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Acro through my whole life and because of being on multiple performance and competition teams I know how important choreography is to show off each of our amazing talents. As I've shown with Lils and my duet, and through my A* In A-level dance (not to brag), choreography is something I love to do, and I want to help create choreography that really pushes us as individual dancers and as a team. Alongside keeping aspects of choreography within Freestyle dancers, I specifically want to introduce some more acro tricks and lifts into dances to add a WOW factor and help create dramatic moments that Luba can only drop her jaw at (and hopefully give us above a 4). While organising the showcase I want to encourage people to show off their own choreographic skills and styles they shine in, as well as lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it.

While the current Vice President has left HUGE boots to fill, I'm committed to taking on this role, even staying at chief until 4 in the morning if need be ;)
