Hi there its me Samuel and I would love to be the treasurer 'man' from next year. Hopefully you know me but if you don’t:
- I am a first year computer science student
- I started dance when I was 3 at a inclusive dance company and have done some cool stuff including being part of NYDC 22-23 performing in a tour around England including at Sadlers Wells, London
- I have to be really organised, and track my own budget each week mainly cause I do so many dance classes in a week
- At school I was part of the sixth form fundraising committee. We raised money for food banks and Christmas appeals by organising events.
- I'm straight to the point if you can't tell

I’ve had too much fun during Freestyle in this first year so I would love to have a bigger role within the society as I think I can help out a bunch and have many ideas to give
- I have a good understanding of maths; I did A level maths, AS further maths and I'm doing computer science at uni
- I also did A level business so have a good understanding of budgeting and financial forecasting
- I'm dedicated to Freestyle ie. I ain’t missed a social even with a sprained ankle (it better be healed for the showcase!)
- I've got numbers and money in my blood - my mam is an accountant and my dad has a Masters in maths, and works as a statistician
- I'm very organised and I've made it all my Thursday 9am’s after socials
- Have good connections with other societies for different social aspects

I've got a few goals if I was elected
- Making more connections with the other dance societies at Leeds
- Work with social secs for some cool sober socials, like going bowling, stuff like that
- More fundraising events including sport tournaments against other societies
- Personalised financial payment schemes for people struggling with their finances
- Personalised voice note reminders if you're late with a payment
- Adding a card machine to classes if it fits with the budget
- More free alcohol at socials

Although not really about money, but I would also think about running a weekly contemporary technique class?? And most importantly...hire a bus with a working microphone next year for
all those speeches and pep talks!

Heyy Freestyle!! I’m Issy and I would love to be considered for the role of Treasurer. Joining freestyle has been the best decision I have ever made, honestly it has made my year! Since joining this society, I have adored preforming with everyone, playing games at socials (embarrassing myself) and getting to know you lovely lot! The committee have been amazing this year and have created a fun and inclusive environment that everyone can enjoy, and I would love to be given the opportunity to do the same! Dance has always been such a big part of my life, so being lucky enough to compete for the first time was so rewarding, I can’t wait for next year.

Having worked at a care home for 3 years, I believe it enhanced not only my empathy and compassion but also my problem-solving skills. At my last school I was captain of my house and trampoline squad which both involved leading and organising but also communicating in a team with a variety of people, which I believe are skills necessary to be part of the committee. I’ve also worked in a charity shop and a catering van, both where I was handling money and reviewing budgets, so don’t worry the money is safe with me :). Being a biomed student, I have to remain organised, and this has helped with my time management skills (it honestly is me and my planner against the world). This alongside maths A-level has made me confident with my maths skills that are necessary in managing budgets and organising expenses. Also, being a perfectionist means that I will give 100% into any task. I understand that being on committee is a big responsibility but one I would love to have!

If I became Treasurer, I would love to introduce more fundraising events for freestyle and work with our wellbeing sec/secretary to make it more accessible to everyone e.g. a bake sale to help fund freestyle (and put my sweet treat addiction to use). Not only this, but I promise to make sure that I remain on top of all expenses, provide a supportive environment where people can discuss any financial issues and ensure that everything runs smoothly. Finally, I will make sure to communicate effectively with everyone, from other members in the committee outlining budgets, to hotels, coaches and comps and being transparent with members in freestyle.

Freestyle has been such a big part of my first-year experience, and I would love to give back to society and make the next freestyle freshers experience as memorable as mine!! I promise to always greet you with a smile and be a friendly face around uni 😊.
