General & Welfare Sec:
You must have excellent organisational and event planning skills
Maintain existing sponsorship relationships, such as the partnership with Pickard Properties.
Identify and pursue new sponsorship opportunities with companies and organisations aligned with the society's values and objectives.
Attend meetings with sponsors to maintain open communication and foster positive working relationships.
Ensure timely recognition and acknowledgment of sponsors through promotional materials, social media, and event mentions - work with the Social Media Sec.
Organise and execute fundraising events for the society and charitable causes ideally at least once a semester.
Engage with relevant awareness campaigns/ national recognition days where possible (Love your Leo/ International Women’s Day/ Eating disorder awareness week/ breast cancer awareness week, etc.)
Collaborate with other committee members and volunteers to plan and coordinate event logistics, including venue booking, marketing, and volunteer coordination.
Ensure proper risk assessments are conducted for all fundraising events to maintain safety and compliance with university regulations.
Plan and organise the society's annual Christmas meal and the end-of-year summer ball, in collaboration with the rest of the committee and Social Secretaries.
Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering arrangements, entertainment, and decorations.
Work closely with other committee members, particularly the Social Secretaries, to ensure a coordinated approach to event planning and execution.
Oversee the welfare of the society and create and distribute our welfare policies for the academic year- note this does not mean that you will be the sole person that people can come to for welfare issues, however you will be in charge of ensuring that any welfare issues are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner by liaising with other committee members
