Hi everyone! I’m Ashna, a first-year biomedical science student and I am running to be the years 25/26 media and communications secretary!! Whoop whoop
I joined this society in September as a fresher and have enjoyed every minute. I felt so welcomed by committee this year which has made me want to be apart of it and help the society in any way I can.
I’ve done recreational gymnastics for fun since I was around 7 and did it up until I was around 16, where I then began to assist in some coaching at my local club. I decided to join the society as I wanted to get back into it as I had missed it a lot lols. I love all the friends and connections I have made with the society, and I have so much love for gymnastics again xxx

I am running for media secretary as I enjoy being creative and making fun graphic designs. I like to think that I have a creative mind and am able to come up with new and interesting ideas. I love a good cringy tick-tok trend – I will be making lots of them if I get voted Hehe. I also have a good understanding of various social media platforms and am confident in my ability to control the society social media pages.

What are my goals for the next year?
- I definitely think that it would be useful to utilise the society’s social media platforms to gain feedback from members on society events, such as feedback on socials, training etc. I think that this is an engaging way in which members can be made to feel included.
- I also would like to create more edits from competitions and have these posted on the day. As I compete in the novice category, I will have plenty of time to do this on comp days (as most of the time I’m lying around doing nothing)
- I would also like to start some new things on our platforms such as vlogging training and competitions on tick-tok and an ‘achievement of the week’ or ‘best fail of the month’ segment on the Instagram story.
- Try to collaborate more with other societies to get more people interested in gymnastics that may have never considered it before

In terms of being on committee in general, I think that I am able to communicate ideas well and am able to work in a team with no problems. I also like to think that I have a kind and welcoming personality, and I love getting to know new people, which I think will be useful when welcoming the new freshers. I aim to contribute the smooth running of the society through being organised and ensuring that I stay on top of all posts and stories to ensure that all members are kept informed of the society’s events. I will aim to work closely with other members of committee to ensure that the correct information is posted about events in a timely manner.

I am person that loves to try something new, and I think that this will be a great opportunity to be a part of a team and continue to make this society the best one out there!!
I hope that I can be given the opportunity to fulfil this role as I would love to contribute to the society that I love so much.

Hi everyone!!! I believe everyone within gymnastics, no matter the level or length they have been in the society, they feel like a family which was such an important factor to me when joining a society halfway through the year:

Being only in the society for one semester i’ve found some of my closest friends who have encouraged me to apply for this position. I actively post on social media in vlogs, day in the life’s and thirst traps 😏😏🫶🫶🥰🥰( follow me larissac124)

I know social media like the back of my hand including trends, algorithms (i have gone viral more than 5 times) and what’s currently attracting views. Because of this, i can post more frequently, gain more views and post tactically. You should vote for me OBVIOUSLY because i will gain more followers and traction, more interaction and most importantly more fun

I know posting on social media seems daunting and scary, but to me I keep it real. I show the good, the bad, the ugly. Let’s post those fails, those new skills and the success.

My ideas would be : more mic’ed up vlogs, more days in the life of committee members, CHALLENGES, exposure to what’s currently happening and a typical day as a gymnast

I plan to show what gymnastics is all about. Show all the opportunities we have and get us more exposure.Showcase the tight bond we all have no matter the level and how inclusive we all are. Whether you can roll on the floor or flip in ways people question if ur human or not.
