Social Sec x2:
- You must be keen to go out most weeks
- Plan and organise a variety of weekly social events, including a mix of drinking and sober socials on different days of the week.
- Produce a socials calendar in advance so members/committee can plan their outfits and attendance accordingly.
- Collaborate with other committee members and society members to gather ideas and preferences for social events.
- Coordinate event logistics, including venue booking, entertainment, and transportation (if applicable).
- Ensure proper risk assessments are conducted for each social event to maintain safety and compliance with university regulations.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with event organisers and venues regarding committee cards, tickets, and other necessary arrangements.
- Meet with event organisers at the beginning of the year to discuss the society's social calendar and potential collaborations.
- Actively attend and participate in social events whenever possible.
- Promote an inclusive and welcoming environment during social gatherings, ensuring all members feel comfortable and encouraged to participate.
- Facilitate social interactions and introduce new members to existing ones, fostering a sense of community within the society.
- Organise a tour for the year and actively encourage members to sign up early on
- Submit risk assessments and obtain necessary permissions for the tour/ socials from the university
- Work closely with the Events Secretary to organise and execute a fundraising event for a chosen charity, contributing to the society's philanthropic efforts.
- Maintain regular communication with society members, informing them about upcoming social events and encouraging participation.
- Decide between the two Social Secs how you will split the workload BEFORE term starts and get it approved by Pres/VP (for example alternate weeks for planning and hosting socials or 1 sober social sec, 1 night out social sec, etc.)
