• Oversee the development and general operations of the society, ensuring its smooth and efficient functioning.
• Lead and guide the committee, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
• Liaise with external partners, such as Leeds Gymnastics Club and Nile Wilson Gymnastics, serving as the main point of contact.
• Maintain open communication with the Leeds University Union (LUU) and relevant contacts at Leeds Gymnastics Club (LGC) and Nile Wilson Gymnastics (NWG).
• Review and update the society's code of practice, code of conduct, constitution, social guidelines, and risk assessments at the start of the academic year.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and regulations.
• Work closely with the Treasurer and Vice President to complete the Gryphon funding application.
• Oversee the collation and completion of all required club documentation.
• Ensure the society's affiliation with the UGC prior to the academic year, in coordination with the Competition Captains (or alternative league depending on outcome).
• Oversee the completion of attendance registers for every training session, in collaboration with the Training Secretary.
• Collaborate with LGC, NWG, and the committee to create comprehensive plans for training and competitions.
• Work with the LUU to enter gymnasts into BUCS competitions, priority comp for the year.
• Ensure all committee members and society members are supported throughout the year, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
• Complete the annual development plan for the society's growth and improvement.
• Oversee the smooth running of competitions .
• Liaise and organise with Liverpool and Manchester universities for the running of the Christie Cup competition.
• Coordinate with Leeds Beckett University for Varsity and Derby competitions.
• Support the Vice President in organising Annual General Meetings (AGMs) and kit orders, as needed.
• Be present at all training sessions and competitions whenever possible, promoting active engagement with society members.
• Complete the UGC judging course and serve as a judge at competitions.
• Create a group chat for all members, facilitating communication and engagement, and alternative group chats/contact points where necessary.
• Familiarity with gymnastics and competition regulations (preferred)
