Hi! My name is Chris Devenney and I would love to be events secretary to give us the best possible ball and trip of 2026/27.

I’ve worked for an events agency for the past 2 years, working with organisations and I was on my sixth form ball committee to create a high standard both in preparation for events and during the execution of them. Therefore know how to work with people to meet the expectations of GeogSoc for our ball and trip.

I love travelling and exploring the world, giving me a great passion for planning our trip. However, travelling with other people has taught me the importance of ensuring everyone enjoys the trip. Therefore, I would take on board any suggestions or criticisms from our society for our trip.

My highest priority is the enjoyment and wellness of the people in GeogSoc. Therefore, I want to make sure our events are inclusive, accessible and affordable to all.

To do this I would:
* Run numerous fundraisers to lower the cost of our events. These would range from raffles to big events like a colour run or fun competitions. This also shows that I would work with our social secretary a lot, taking a more active role as event secretary.
* Make everyone feel welcome.
* Be present in GeogSoc, making sure to come across friendly and approachable.
* Being available for any clarifications or questions you have
