Hi! I'm Georgia and I'll be going into my 4th year of medicine after intercalating this year. I've loved being Co-Vice President this year and want to continue in this role and help Brain Leeds to grow, helping more people develop their interest in neurology and neurosurgery.

I am confident in this role. This past year I have liaised with the University Union to move the society to LUU, from MSRC, setting up our Engage page and accounts. I have managed emails, and assisted other committee members with planning and running events, alongside having a general overall knowledge of all society activities.

This past year, we designed and ran a successful national conference, escape rooms and several teaching series. I am very excited to be part of the future of Brain Leeds.

Hi I'm Anna, a 2nd Year Medical Student, applying for the role of Vice President, fingers crossed!

This year, Brain Leeds have had such an amazing committee. They have done so incredibly well and made it such a wonderful thing to be part of which is what has inspired me to apply for a role this year.

I have had previous experience of being on a committee. I was President of MedSoc in college, which involved me working with clinicians to organise weekly talks for the society. I also became used to hosting online events for large numbers of people. My role varied: from providing individual support to the lower year students for their University application process to hosting workshops and seminars with clinicians providing mock interviews. I really enjoyed my role, as I got to network with doctors in different clinical areas and provide students with insight into their specialty.

During my hopeful time as Vice, I plan to organise more frequent events and to aim to host more in person events, as people find it more engaging. Further, I will create more links with the Neuroscience and Surgery departments at LGI to provide more teaching opportunities. Across this year, I have made some contacts within these departments which could aid this.

I am an energetic student with lots of ideas and passion for anything Neuro! I cannot wait to bring my enthusiasm to the team. Thank you very much for considering me for this role and I would really appreciate your support in my run for Vice President!

Hello, I'm Linley, currently in my fourth year, and would like to run for the position of Vice President for Brain Leeds.

In terms of experience, I've served as an Events Executive for MMI UK (Malaysian Medics International UK Branch Council). Within this role, I spearheaded the clinical mentoring scheme, orchestrated specialty series including neurosurgery, and contributed to the Publicity Team for our conference. Through these responsibilities, I've acquired transferable skills that I aim to leverage within Brain Leeds.

From this role I’ve gained transferable skills that I hope I can put to good use in Brain Leeds by diversifying and expanding the events from escape room OSCEs, organising more insightful talks about neurosurgery / neurology for medical students to expanding the different kinds of workshops in the Brain Leeds conference.

I've loved working within a team environment and if entrusted with the role of VP, I am committed to fostering an inclusive atmosphere where every committee member's input is valued. Thank you :)
