Hi everyone, my name is Sadie and I’m running for President!!

For those of you that don’t know me, I am a 4th year medic, and the current treasurer of medics and dentists tennis! I have absolutely loved being on committee this year and I’d love the opportunity to build on the success of this year, following in the footsteps of all the amazing work Avi has put in.

I’d like to think I would be well suited for the role. As 1st team captain for the uni lacrosse team last year, I have had lots of practice leading a group of people and managing the admin that comes with running a busy team. More recently, as treasurer, I secured significant funding from LUU, enough to bring down the cost of kit and training and provide plenty of free alcohol (you've probably heard me and Avi mention it once or twice).

I'm organised, determined, love all things tennis and am genuinely passionate about this club. If you can't find me, I'm probably playing tennis at the Hollies, watching tennis, or working at Wimbledon and obsessing over saying hi to all the players.

But on a serious note, I would love to help the club grow even more next year and continue on the same upward trajectory that Avi has so impressively made happen. If I were to become president, here’s some things I would do:
• Build on our financial success this year by working with the treasurer to secure more funding, making memberships, training and kit even more affordable and the society as accessible as possible.
• Introduce 2 tennis sessions during the week to give everyone lots of time on court.
• Introduce 1 externally coached session per month, giving people personalised and technical tips on how to improve their tennis skills.
• Aim for success at NAMS by having dedicated team training sessions for those playing.
• Encourage more competitive play by setting up friendly matches with other university tennis societies.
• Continue the charity tournament for a second year, raising money for causes that all our members feel passionate about.
• Create more cross-year connections through socials and meals.
• Teaching series and mock OSCE’s in the lead up to exams.

Well, I think that’s enough rambling from me, but I just want to emphasise how LMDTS really has been such a highlight of my time at uni, and I’d love nothing more than to help it keep growing, so please consider voting me for president!
