Hello everyone!

My name is Andrew Hay. I am thrilled to be applying for the position of Social Secretary. Growing up in London with Scottish parents has provided me with a unique perspective on the importance of community, tradition, and bringing people together.
I recognise the importance and benefit from building communities and bringing people from different backgrounds together. I am to achieve that in the social activities that can be arranged for Calsoc.

As Social Secretary, my aim would be to enhance the student experience by organising events reflecting Scottish heritage but too which reflect the varied interests of our diverse student body, while maintaining a balance of fun, relaxation, and community engagement. If elected, I plan to introduce new events and socials including a Burns supper, St Andrews Day Social and much more!!
I am excited to contribute my energy and ideas to make the upcoming year as memorable and inclusive as possible for all students. Thank you for considering my application, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you all.

I'm Ross Tobin, and I'm applying for the role of Social Secretary! I've absolutely loved being a part of Calsoc for the past year, from the RPP reels, the Headingley Sprint, and of course the Balls, and want to be a part of continuing to make it a society where everyone feels welcome and can enjoy themselves.

Despite living just north of London, I was born in Edinburgh to Scottish parents, have a Scottish accent and wear a kilt in the true Scotsman style. I know how great Calsoc can be in terms of the building of community and friendships (I found a relative that I didn't know existed and many of my closest friends here!) and want to continue to make it a society where this can happen.

If I were elected as Social Secretary, I would continue all the things that we know and love already, as well as bringing in some new socials for the society. These would include Scottish sporting viewings, a Headingly Sprint, a Burns Night fandango (with an address to the haggis) and much more. More than this, I want to maintain the atmosphere that Calsoc already has - friendly, warm, social and welcoming. Leeds Caledonian Society will go down as one of the greats, and I'd love to be a part of it as Social Secretary.
