I would love to be Caledonian Society President next year. I have been a proud member of Caledonian since it was founded, and this year I took on a major role as Social Media Secretary. It’s been amazing to watch the society grow — from welcoming over 150 people to our balls to seeing more and more members regularly at practices. As someone who is completely Scottish, born and raised, and who has been ceilidh dancing for as long as I can remember, I want Cal Soc to feel just like the intimate, traditional Ceilidhs I grew up going to and loving.

My main aim as President would be to keep Caledonian Society as inclusive as possible, so we can share our love of Scottish culture and dancing with even more people, no matter their previous experience. I’ve loved being more involved this year, and I’m really excited about the chance to continue the amazing legacy left by Oscar and Yasmine, making sure Caledonian keeps growing for years to come. I want to help everyone have a chance to do something they may have never done before, and to make new friends.

I will ensure that I listen to what our members want and make this society one that gains University wide enjoyment.
