Hi everyone, I’m Simi and I’m applying for the general committee member role! I’ve been an active member of kickboxing since 2022, and I have really enjoyed my time with the club, especially volunteering at UKC the last 2 years. I’d love the chance to become more involved going into my final year and the general committee position will be perfect for this as I’ll be able to support the rest of the committee in their varied roles and hopefully have a positive impact on the club as a whole. If I am voted for I would love to contribute to the ongoing inclusion efforts such as the girls classes which have inspired me to get into sparring, and I hope I can encourage other girls to get involved and have the chance to meet great friends like I’ve found through kickboxing!

I want help with the team and being 4th year in September, I can help and give a hand with each member of the committee and giving help wherever is needed. I’m friendly, approachable and willing to try anything as I always volunteer whenever I can. Whether it’s UKC, Freshers fair or refreshers fair, I’ve helped out with each one. With my experience I’ve got the know how each role of the committee works and how I can support each person whenever I can.

i’ve been doing kickboxing since september and have absolutely LOVED it; I’m hoping to be on committee so i can be more involved and get to know the people in the club more :)
I also write for the unis gryphon newspaper and am hoping to publish a few articles about the club. If you have ideas for what kind of thing you would like to see published let me know!
