Alright lads, I am nominating myself for merch sec for next year.
As I’ve not played in a while all I could do was look gorgeous on the sideline and what better way to continue being able to do that with some new merch options. I want the team to continue to feel like a family both on and off the pitch and to do that I would want to try a new way of doing merch. Not just a website but one of a kind, one off pieces you can only buy within a team order, whether that be custom training vests or my favourite stadium tracksuits.
These products would be from established and well known brands that always give great quality (Canterbury, oddballs etc). The designs would be one off and made to order so once we have the designs you can decide which design you prefer (if multiple options) and if you would like the kit.
I would also like to introduce a way of awarding members of the club for their time with the team. I’m not just saying this because of rugby, but ties. Not to wear on socials (maybe once in a blue moon, initiation social for example) but for events like old boys and as something you have earnt from your involvement within the team, a piece of memorabilia for when you graduate.
Once a gryphon, always a gryphon.

As Deion Sanders once said, 'if you look good, you feel good and if you feel good, you play good'. With this in mind one of my biggest aims as Merch Sec would be to create some new Gryphons gameday clothing and accessories with EP Sports. This could include custom Gryphons arm sleeves, towels, skull wraps and baselayers from brands such as Adidas, Under Armour and Badger. I'd also like to further expand some of the everyday wear options currently available on the EP Sports store by trying to get well designed, high quality items from premium brands onto the store that we would be proud to wear around campus. As everyone will have different opinions on what they would want from the merch store I'd be open to suggestions and I'd be willing to work with others to create the best items for the team.

Depending on the thoughts of the Kit Sec, it could be a good idea to get some decals for our helmets, whether that be a decal that the whole team has on their helmet (such as the green and white stripe on some helmets at the minute) or small stickers for stuff such as a player's number, achievements over the season such as touchdowns, turnovers and pancakes or something more personal however this will depend on the number of helmets available and may not be fully possible due to sharing kit.

Another fun thing I'd like to look at trying to get is a Gryphons themed turnover/touchdown chain for the sideline to keep the energy up in our big play moments, this could also be used on our social media and for recruitment to create a bit more energy and hype around the team.
