I would like to put myself forward as I believe charity plays a key role in the society and helps bring together the team to rally around certain causes. For example Movember is a great way for us as a society to raise awareness for men’s issues, and I believe this can be pushed further next year through more social media drives and discussion at training sessions. I also have ideas about other possible innovative charity ideas that could be implemented and have experience from running charity football tournaments on multiple occasions in the past

As you will have seen I am aiming to run for secretary next year (go back and vote for me) however as this is a highly competitive role and I really want to contribute to the team and be on the committee next year I am applying to this for just in case I don't get Secretary or Social Media Secretary.

It is important as a group that we support charities where possible and make a positive impact and due to the size of our society I think we could be doing more to help out charities, be that monetarily ourselves or through awareness. If I got this position I would look into running some more fundraiser events, probably to benefit our partners at the Will Garvey Foundation, as well as pushing initiatives for both Movember and Breast cancer awareness month. I would also look into possibly collaborating with other societies to run these fundraisers in order to reach a wider audience.
