As recruitment secretary you are responsible for proposing and implementing the team’s recruitment plan in freshers week and throughout the rest of the year. This starts with ensuring the team has a good social media presence so you will help create targeted posts in the run up to the GIAG and the fair. • Securing and booking a good freshers fair stall is essential (in September and January) as well as making sure the rest of the team are appropriately positioned at the stall and around campus to maximise exposure. • Organising the rookie day alongside the coaches and other committee members and, most importantly, having a big presence on the day so any new players feel welcomed and can enjoy themselves. • Being a point of contact for anyone wishing to join the team, not just in freshers week but, throughout the year so the rest of the team have someone to direct new players to at all times. • Continuing to recruit throughout the rest of the year, including the fresh start fair in January and always looking out for potential players. • This will be one of the most important roles this year as we have so many players leaving. A good year of recruiting will set up the society for the next 2-3 years. A poor year of recruiting can be extremely damaging to the society (on field, off the field, and financially as we are funded through membership fees) • Over the past 3 years the recruitment has been managed by myself and Matty. Outside of 5 or 6 players everyone in the society this year was recruited during our tenure. As you are all aware we struggled to kit everyone up this year, which goes to show how successful recruitment has been over the last few years. Similar levels of recruitment will be needed this year!
