Hi everyone, I’m Francesca. As an Economics and Finance student, I believe that the role of Korfball’s treasurer is the ideal opportunity for me to apply what I have learnt at university to the real world. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year as part of the Korfball society as I have loved making new friends and gaining confidence. When joining university, I thought I would be too scared to even join a society, but now less than a year later I’m applying to be on the committee! I would love the opportunity to help others in the club enjoy Korfball as much as I have in the last year.

As a passionate member of the society and someone with financial management skills, I believe I am well-suited to manage the club’s finances. I am confident in my ability to maintain budgets and ensure the club’s financial operations run efficiently. If I were to become treasurer, I would be eager to collaborate with the committee and other members while also investing in the club’s future. Additionally, I would try to explore the idea of fundraisers or sponsorships for the club. As Deputy Head Student at my school, I learned how to balance responsibilities with academic studies, which would be a crucial skill for Korfball’s treasurer. I would like to think of myself as very organised and as having a keen eye for detail, so I would fulfil this role with passion and care. I am excited about this opportunity to contribute to the experience of the society and support its growth and accessibility.

I would love to carry out this role, as I am interested in pursuing a career in something finance related and I would be honoured to take on this responsibility and aid the club’s success.

Hi, I’m Josh, and I would like to be treasurer of the Korfball committee next year. I played Korfball when I was younger, and I started playing again in my first year of university and have loved being part of the society, meeting all the members and playing for the 1st team especially at BUCS nationals this year. I am keen to take a more active role in the club next year and help keep Korfball growing as much as possible.

I believe that the role of treasurer will suit my skills and interests in financial forecasting, and link closely to my degree which I am pursuing in economics and finance. My key goals as treasurer would be to keep match fees and membership prices cheap and accessible to all ensuring that everyone in the club has the opportunity to play, prepare an accurate budget before the year starts and have checkpoints throughout the year to ensure the club is on track with its budget and to liaise regularly with other committee members about the budget and the financial status of the club to ensure transparency throughout the year.
