Notes from previous president (Mindy):
As the president, the main role is supporting the committee members, and making sure everyone is comfortable with their roles. My top tip for being the president is to plan ahead, and communication. Being the president can help you develop organisation, communication skills, and most importantly leadership skills!
Being in the LUUMIC committee also means to get a chance to design and lead a diversity of community music projects with lovely organisations in and around Leeds. My favourite session this year is the Meeting Point- a female refugee and asylum seekers group, as Covid is getting better, we finally got to organise a few in person sessions and everyone enjoyed it so much.
