Hello my dudes - I'm Rane (like the weather) and I would love to be LUUMIC's Events Coordinator for this upcoming year.

I am going into my fourth year of BA Geography after having completed a year in industry at a bank and will be able to use the skills I've picked up, such as good time management, communication, leadership, confidence and being sociable and approachable in the role.

I love all things music, was in all the school choirs, play piano and the ukulele, but my favourite instrument is the guitar (I like to stand in front of the mirror in my room and pretend I'm playing my guitar at Wembley).

From year 9 to year 13 at secondary school I ran my school ukulele club and so would love to run some ukulele sessions with the society! In year 13 I also organised a trip with my club to a local care home to perform to the residents so I have past experience that will be valuable for the role.

I also used to volunteer with the society in my first year and am eager to get back into the swing of things now that COVID can't ruin the fun.

If I get the role, at freshers fair I'll play the ukulele behind my head to get people to try to join the society and lucky for you all, I'm pretty sick at it.

My mum tells me I am the life of the party so you'd all be in safe hands when it'll come to society events - I'm already thinking a few otley runs, maybe some karaoke nights too - a good mixture of drinking and non-drinking events!
