Hello, my name is Yashvi Shah and I am standing for the position of STEM Director. I am a second year Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence student with a passion to gain as much practical experience throughout my course as I possibly can. Being a STEM student myself, I know how stressful and daunting the process of applying for internships and placements can be hence I want to pass on the advice I have gained and the lessons I have learnt these past two years in forms of workshops and insight weeks to help equally passionate members of the society reach their dream jobs. Last semester, I was organizing events for the VIBES Bollywood Dance Society and working part-time as Social Media Intern at the University of Leeds while still fighting through the pressure of courseworks and exams. I love pushing myself to my level best and I think this role would help me gain a lot of skills as well as meet like-minded people with a passion to make a successful career in STEM. I would love to learn and participate in these workshops and insight weeks myself with all of you to apply some of the useful tips in my career as well. My name is Patrycja and I would love to be your next STEM Director in the Women in Leadership Society!

I am an enthusiastic, organised, and passionate third year Medical Sciences student. For the past two years I was a President of the Society, which taught me a lot about event planning, time-management, and teamwork. You may have also seen me on a range of WILS events this year!

As a Woman in STEM myself I understand how intimidating navigating a degree and career in science can be, and how many different paths are offered. As the STEM Director I would love to help other Society members reach their full potential! By organising both professional and social events aimed for the STEM degrees I want to help build a network to exchange experiences and support each other, hopefully lasting even beyond graduation. I would also like to cooperate with other Societies, such as FoBSoc, MathSoc, or the engineering Societies to host social events reaching outside WILS and get to know other students.

Additionally, I would like to organise talks with successful women thriving in the different branches of STEM careers to inspire WILS members about the range of opportunities after graduation and share their advice. Furthermore, I want to reach out to organisations and companies promoting women involvement in STEM careers and establish collaborations with the Society, supporting our STEM-studying members.
