The Conference Director plays a crucial role in organising our annual, Empower Conference! There are a few main responsibilities that come with the role of the Conference Director, including:

- Recruiting and leading your own sub-committee to organise the Empower Conference

- Ensuring all conference-related health and safety, external speaker and other essential organisation forms are completed in a timely fashion

- Reporting regularly to the President/Vice President & committee about the progress of the conference and the activities of your team of volunteers to ensure the society's ethos is being upheld

- Ensuring all efforts are taken to make the conference as inclusive as possible, including through cutting costs for members who wish to attend

- Working with the treasurer to apply and negotiate for sponsorship for the conference from firms who share the mission of the society, by actively promoting gender equality

- Working with the sub-committee to create an event agenda and recruit external speakers
