Hi everyone, my name is Anjola Dare, I study Social Policy with Enterprise, and I am currently completing my placement year at a management consulting firm in central London. When I saw the Head of Podcast position, I knew I had to nominate myself because I believe I have a lot of value that can be added to this role.

To help inform your decision to vote for me, here are some key facts that you may want to know:

1. I was president of the African and Caribbean society during the 2020/21 academic year.

- During this time, I managed to enlarge my network and work closely with a diverse range of individuals, of whom I am sure will provide phenomenal educational and professional insight that can be utilised for the podcast.
- Alongside the networks acquired through ACS, being president also significantly aided my organisational skills, which I know is paramount to run a consistent and successful podcast.

2. I have acquired a large amount of industry knowledge through my placement year.

- Since September (2021) I have begun to cultivate my industry networks. This includes a range of female professionals from an array of different backgrounds who can uplift and inspire WIL’s members, by sharing their stories.
- The industry knowledge I have gained also provides a good framework for interviewing future guests.

3. I love speaking to new people!

- One of the primary reasons why I wanted to do a year in industry, alongside the experience I would gain, is because I also wanted an opportunity to meet people that I otherwise would not have had the chance to meet.
- To follow on from this, I also really enjoy hearing about people’s stories, which is an integral part of the ‘Behind Her Success’ podcast.

4. I am a very creative person.

- One of my big aims for this podcast is that each episode is unskippable! I listen to podcasts almost everyday, ranging from finance and investing to religion, world politics and lighthearted conversations between friends.
- As a result of this, I am aware of the best ways to keep an audience engaged whilst ensuring that the person being interviewed has scope to produce the best answers.

To conclude, I believe the Women In Leadership society does a phenomenal job in encouraging and uplifting women to achieve their full potential. I intend to bring the same precepts into the podcast by utilising my expertise acquired through being ACS president, my diverse networks I have attained through my time at university and my placement, and ultimately my love of podcasts and sharing incredible women’s stories.
