About me!
- Hiiiii I'm Jess!! I’m a 1st year English and Comparative literature Student
- Co-directed ‘NOTHING’
- Performed in ‘Sour Milk’ for New Writes Project
- Attended writing and stage combat workshops over the past two terms

Why committee?
- Since coming to Uni in September, the place that has provided me with the best creative and social experiences has been TG.
- I know this society wouldn’t run without the team of Committee members and I would love to inspire newcomers to the society in the same way I have been over the past two terms.

Why I would make a good Secretary
- I thrive most when working with others, socially, creatively, and organisationally
- Having a fairly young student in this position would hopefully allow for Freshers to the society to feel all the more comfortable with getting involved in any socials/productions
- I’d love to be the go-to person for any questions from any members, old and new, to make the society feel as warm and welcoming as possible!

Aims for TG 2022/23!
- Upping advertisement of freshers-focused opportunities, both social and creative
Collab with other performance societies, OT, LUUSMS etc. for theatre trips/socials – introducing the tradition of a massive monthly social// utilitising Leeds Playhouse!!
- Making more of Welfare Wednesdays, having a space for coffee/tea/check-ins/NT On Demand viewings for whoever is interested

Ultimately I want to make 2022/23 TG’s best year yet!!!! :)

BEING A PART OF COMMITTEE
With secretary being a part of exec, secretary needs to be a big part of the TG team.
- I have been Vice President on Open Theatre committee this year which I have loved. The requirements of the role are very similar to to TG’s secretary. I had a close relationship with the President of OT and learnt a lot about how to run a society and how to support the President and effectively work as a team
- I know how to listen to the rest of committee’s worries and ideas to make sure all voices are heard

ORGANISATION
Organisation is essential arguably the most essential trait for a Secretary.
- I’m running LS6 Theatre for OT’s Fringe right now so I am very aware of how to organise bookings, keep up to date on emails and work through society issues as that’s what I’ve had to do with organising Fringe

SUPPORTING TG
- I loved being a part of the new writes program this semester and would be keen to make sure it keeps going in some form next year. I will be doing a script writing masters and did a creative writing A Level so I have some ideas on how to keep the program going and to constructively work on people’s new writing, and make sure we make the festival even better next year

Although my primary interest is in Welfare I would also be very happy to assist the president with any tasks they may need as secretary.
