Hi all, I’m Olivia and I joined backstage at the start of the year, and what a year it’s been! From making a dead body to stuffing a pigeon full of rice (the infamous Basmati), this year has certainly been memorable.
I’ve been to some committee meetings, been shadow production manager and involved in seven shows (so far) and tried to get as involved as I can and learn about how the society works. I’m applying for secretary because I’m very organised and enjoy doing admin. I’ve had lots of experience in this through my job which I did a year before I started uni and continue to do during the holidays. I also think designing shows has given me a good insight into the overall structure of shows as well as the level of organisation involved in liaising with societies, sourcing materials (like random props e.g. squirrels and sewing machines) and getting crew members involved in shows. If I got the role, I would try my best to continue what Beth does now because everything is really well organised!
I’ve loved being a part of the society this year and would love to join committee so I can continue to work with and meet new backstage members- probably my favourite part of backstage.
