Hi everyone! I’m Prachi Desai, and I’m excited to run for Events Representative of Cardio Soc. Having a strong passion for cardiology and a background in event management, I’m eager to bring engaging, high-impact events to our society that are both educational and inclusive.

I’ve previously served as Fundraising Rep for EyeSoc, where I aided in Mock OSCEs and Core Condition teaching sessions with specialists, and as EDI Rep for CrashSoc, which was awarded Best New Med Society of the Year at the Worsley's. There, I helped plan and deliver of AtoE Teaching Series, aimed at building strong clinical foundations.
These experiences taught me how to coordinate events efficiently, manage logistics, and collaborate closely with team members and external speakers. I’ve also developed strong communication and problem-solving skills, essential for running smooth and effective events.

Beyond society work, I’ve been involved with a teaching and learning platform for pre-clinical medical students, where I helped develop educational content. This deepened my understanding of academic structuring, student engagement, and peer-led teaching—skills I would bring directly into this role.

If elected, my vision includes:
- Hosting more student-led conferences and step-by-step cardiology career workshops
- Delivering more regular Core Conditions teaching and CV-building
- Introducing research driven events
- Creating a platform for members to connect, share ideas, and give feedback
- Increasing collaborations with other societies, both within and outside the university, to offer interdisciplinary learning and broaden our reach

I’m committed to making Cardio Soc events dynamic, supportive, and relevant to every stage of medical training.
