Hello! I’m Elsie Lilly Bullough, a first-year Fashion Marketing student, and I’m running for Media and Communications Secretary for 26/27. A little bit about me, I did acrobatics/circus for 8 years (the acrobatics kind, not clowns and animals). I started when I was 9 and had to stop at 16 because of a back injury. Being able to start gymnastics again this year has genuinely been one of the highlights of my first year. It has reminded me why I loved the sport so much, while also giving me the chance to meet amazing people and make memories I’ll always keep.

I’m running for this role because I’m a committed member of the club, regularly attending training and socials, and I’d love the opportunity to give back to a society that has made such a positive impact on my university experience. I also love creating content, whether that’s taking photos, making vlogs, editing videos, or capturing the best moments from nights out, holidays, and everyday life. As a Fashion Marketing student, I’m constantly learning how to create engaging content, build audiences, and present brands in a way that attracts attention. I also use platforms such as Adobe and Canva, meaning I can create professional, aesthetic, and consistent content for the society.

I keep up with current social media trends and would love to bring fresh ideas to the gymnastics platforms to increase engagement, visibility, and attract new members. Whether that’s fun reels, training highlights, competition content, member spotlights, or social recaps, I’d aim to keep the pages active and exciting.

My goal would be to make our social platforms feel welcoming, energetic, and representative of the whole club. I want everyone to feel included, from competitive gymnasts to beginners and social members. I’d also make sure important updates are clear and easy to access, while sharing motivation, achievements, and the supportive atmosphere that makes this society special. For many new students, social media is their first impression of a society, so I’d want ours to immediately show how fun, friendly, and inclusive gymnastics is.

I think I would really enjoy being part of committee and taking on this role, as I am creative, organised, reliable, and enthusiastic. Most importantly, I care about the club and would put genuine effort into helping it grow and thrive next year.

Hey! I'm Rose and I'm a second year Neuroscience student. Joining gymnastics in my second year was one of the best decisions I have made since coming to uni and I'd love the opportunity to give back to the society that made me so many new friends and increased my confidence.
I'm very creative and a little bit of a perfectionist so I always take pride in the work I produce and I'd love to be able to channel this into something that matters. My degree has given me plenty of experience in making posters, graphs, figures, presentations, portfolios and much more and therefore I know my way around a variety of digital platforms.
I also understand the importance of consistent communication, whether this be to existing members, potential members or general inquiries, as it helps gain engagement that benefits the society. As I'm always online, I will ensure emails/messages etc are responded to professionally and in a timely manner.
As a consistent member of training as well as socials, I'd really love the opportunity to be further involved in the society and use my skills to boost it's visibility, hopefully helping to recreate the environment that I love so much for upcoming freshers!!

Hey y’all! I’m Amy (Jones) I am a first year Economics and Finance student running for Media and Communications Secretary for 2026-2027.
I first started gymnastics when I was 8, determined to be like those American gymnastics YouTubers. I loved gymnastics as my Thursday after-school hobby and eventually stopped when I was 15 to then go on to become a Level 1 coach. I assisted coaching for 1 year and coached properly for 2.
I am a very committed member of UOLGC and this society has been the highlight of my first year: I have made so many memories and so many amazing friends. I have competed in multiple competitions and regularly attending training and socials (of which I loved them all). I would be honoured to give back to the society by running its social media platforms and promoting our society.
I have experience in managing social media, as I currently run the accounts for a catering company, posting at least weekly – if not more. My role there as Kitchen Manager, along with running the accounts, has made me very a organised person and taught me consistency and confidence in social media. I developed teamwork and communication skills in this role, my coaching role and when I was house captain in sixth form. I also often helped my teachers film and edit videos for assemblies when I was in sixth form – massive teacher’s pet, I know. I’d like to think I’m a friendly and approachable person who works well within a group, and so I would fit in well on committee and be a positive addition to the team. I love creating and editing videos, and thanks to my horrendous screen time, I am always up to date with viral trends.
I can’t wait to create fun, engaging content – from training clips and competition days to socials and behind-the-scenes. One thing I’d really like to focus on is showing the relatable side of gymnastics on our social media. For example, overcoming mental blocks, re-learning and re-gaining old skills (which is always so much harder than you expect), slow progress, and inevitable fails – lol. I hope that this would make members and viewers feel supported and encouraged. Along with this I’d strive to keep members informed about events in a timely manner.
Most importantly, I will continue to help create a welcoming and inclusive environment that makes newcomers feel comfortable and excited to be a part of UOLGC. I’ll stay friendly, smiley and down-to-earth.
I’m aware this is cliché, but I genuinely do love a challenge and a being busy with a routine (i.e. regular posts). I would greatly value the opportunity to fulfil this role and will upkeep and improve (though I don’t know if that’s possible…) our society.
