Social Secretary  

*We request that final year students don’t apply for this role* 

• Organising events and activities for the society 
• Working closely with the Treasurer to ensure all events are carefully planned and budgeted for 
• Work closely with the Secretary & Welfare Officer to ensure events do not clash with any important dates, and ensure that all events are accessible for all 
• Work closely with the Social Media Secretary to advertise events 
• Ensuring the External Speaker process is followed 
• Be organised and plan events in advance to ensure events run as smoothly as possible 
• Uphold any previous relationships with local establishments 

You will be responsible for planning, organising and hosting events for the society. This role will require you to be comfortable reaching out to local companies and groups for collaborative events, society discounts, and hiring spaces. You will need to work closely with the Treasurer to ensure you are not going over budget; with the Secretary & Welfare Officer to ensure they are kept up to date with any upcoming events and report back to them with any accessibility requirements; with the Social Media Officer to ensure all events are advertised.
