Hi, I’m Amy and I’ve been in the Green Party society since I moved to Leeds in October. I have been going to most of the socials and events since, and have become involved in campaigning with the wider green party as well. I have experience working part time in admin, and have previously been vice-president (which functioned as a secretary) and publicity officer for different societies (ice skating and climate society) in my undergrad.
I hope that I will be able support the presidents in the running of the society, and help out with any events throughout the year. I used to help with the youth climate strikes when I was in 6th form, so have experience with organising/co-ordinating events. Since I am a postgrad I don’t have deadlines at the same times as others, so should be able to help out during the other exec’s busy periods.
I love that the society gives students a chance to meet other student activists before going to wider Green Party events (which can otherwise be scary). I would love to help the society continue to make all student feel welcome within the society, and give them a space to meet other likeminded people.
