Aerial arts have become an increasingly popular form of performance and can tell a profound story. We want to give our members the opportunity to perform in a high-quality show. I have been performing in aerial shows and showcases for over 7 years, from my first performance at 12 on the hoop, where I just about managed a man in the moon to silks in front of Shakespeare’s home in Stratford as part of a festival, and I would encourage everyone who feels able to participate to sign up. I would speak with members in advance of classes and send notices via email. I’ve seen first-hand what it takes to put on a showcase, and I also know what it’s like to perform in one. Whether it's your first aerial performance or not, it can be daunting, and to mitigate this, it is important to have someone who is confident and assured in directing you, whilst allowing for creative freedoms that allow for the collective talent of the society to be showcased. My goal is to maximise our lovely members' talent and make them feel proud of how far they have come. I am creative, I've directed, created, and performed in a short aerial film, called Polaroid, which brought together an activist message of saving the arts, whilst showcasing Birmingham Youth Circus’s talent. I understand backstage elements and can create a show that is cohesive, entertaining and able to give members’ hard work the greatest impact. I want to create a show that is inclusive for everyone, no matter their skill level. I'd like to look at how we could market the show to raise even more money and give our members a well-deserved opportunity to show off, through paper print, mobilising our social medias and mini-promotional performances across campus.

To summarise as Performance and Events Rep I promise I would:
1. Use my experience of showcases and performance to create a seamless showcase, utilising backstage elements to create a visually appealing show.
2. Market the show creatively to maximise fundraising and audience size.
3. Enable members, no matter their skill level, to feel that performing in the showcase is accessible to them and something they would enjoy being a part of.
