Hi everyone! My name is Ife (ee-feh :) ), a third-year dental student who has been part of the society for the past 2 years. My priority as publicity rep for the coming year would be to ensure smooth communication between the committee and society members! This is vital in keeping everyone informed and engaged. I will do this by guaranteeing that all channels of communication - Instagram, emails, Facebook, WhatsApp - are updated frequently and are most appropriately utilised in a way that is informative but also shows the spirit of our society!
I believe this society creates an inclusive, safe, welcoming space for us to challenge ourselves physically and mentally. It has helped me a lot and that's why I look forward to assisting in making the society a great place for everyone next year!

I’d love to be the publicity rep as I know that many people use social media to check up on what is happening in the society, including myself! I’d like to keep the buy and sell Facebook alive and boost it on instagram so more people know to look there for extra tickets. I would also like to post more photos of member’s’ achievements (given we have permission of course) so that everyone feels motivated to come along to sessions to help improve their skills! As well as this, I want to make sure that hoop, silks, sexy pole and pole all get equal posts so everyone feels included. I have experience working with social media as I have made some posts for my mum’s business on her instagram page. Here are some examples:

This year I am running for publicity rep for VF! As the fundraising rep for VF 2022/23, I organised a successful 24 hour pole-a-thon and charity raffle, helping to raise over £2000 for Basis Yorkshire. Throughout both campaigns I took over the VF Instagram, making engaging posts, stories and lives! I also created posters advertising the raffle which I posted up all around campus. My dedication to the committee and society in this role hopefully demonstrates I will be a committed and organised Publicity Rep next year.

As publicity rep, my goal is to make a more cohesive and unified social media for VF. I will create a tiktok page for VF where we can share progress and new moves being learned in classes. I also want to make the Instagram more collaborative, sharing more photos from members showing progress, as well as creating more fun competitions with prizes to be won. I will give our social media a refresh, working with the other committee members to work on how we can demonstrate our society values and goals. In addition to creating engaging posts about our events, as well as increasing overall engagement with the society!

I have a lot of experience using social media running my small business alongside my biology degree (@rockandrose.uk), having developed social media literacy I can bring to this role. I can make our VF social media cute, engaging and collaborative space for our members with a focus on inclusion and building our community.
