Hii, I'm Megan and I'm a first year biomed student

Joining the gymnastics society has made my first year so memorable and I'd love to encourage more people to join and make this the best society 3

I'd love to join the committee as the social and comms sec as I'd use social media as a platform to gather more opportunities for the society. I'd also like to take this opportunity to make the gymnastics soc even more collaborative with other societies and organisations. As well as running the social media platforms I'd aim to help the social secs with social ideas as this will influence content that is uploaded onto social media. As well as helping the social secs, I'll always be willing to help out where is needed. I'd also make sure everyone is happy with being posted and comfortable with having their picture taken, keeping the society a safe and friendly space.

My name is Adriana and I am a first year Biochemistry student. Before University, I was a competitive gymnast from the age of 4 until 15. I restarted gymnastics upon entry into university in 2023. Through the Gymnastics Society, I have met some great people and found a way to enjoy the sport again.

Goals and Aims for 2024/2025

Create a more lively and interactive social media pages promoting competition dates, socials, events and achievements:
Examples:
More competition posts for each level. (candid photos and videos of routines and warm up)
Lively and fun Tiktok videos from training
Posts promoting the days we have gymnastics meets.
Candid photos of socials and sober socials.
Social media takeovers by committee and some members
New Skill features on instagram stories

The society’s social media will have a more elevated cohesive layout and color scheme.

Highlight the charity events on social media pages to demonstrate that the society not only has fun but gives back to the wider community.

Develop a more interactive calendar of important dates such as training dates, competitions, and charity events. Additionally a separate monthly social calendar would be posted to make social dates, times, and themes clearer.

Advertise training sessions and competitions as a means to promote the society and increase membership and participation on Tiktok and instagram.

Increase collaboration with other sports societies to encourage more people to join gymnastics. (Sports swaps)

Why vote for me:

Despite being introverted, I am passionate about communicating and introducing new people to the sport.

Even though I do a STEM subject I enjoy being creative in my freetime, and I would like to use these skills to help the Society's social media pages.

I believe that the Society's instagram has a lot of untapped potential which needs to be fully explored which can be used to promote the society to more people.

I will collaborate with other committee members to keep the social media up to date with the most recent and important information.

Although I would like to promote the society to more people, I want to make sure the social media page can help maintain the society's warm and accepting environment for others.
